That I dont know. I always get confused. and there are several different part numbering schems I have seen. I think all the rear rotors were the same. there are 3 different size front rotors listed for different Galant models in the same year range. you need the middle sized one. dimeters you need are 266 for the front and 265 for the rear.

I know the info is in the 323GTX database area. IIRC, its a 1990-91 Mazda 929 non ABS master cylinder, and a 1994 protege automatic tranny canister. You will also have to swap the stock GTX rod that pushes on the canister for this setup as it is a longer piece? Or is it shorter? Ha, been so long. Just swap the GTX piece to the newer parts.

BB is correct though. I felt that I had to really tip toe in the braking dept with just the front Gallant setup when being aggressive. I would lock the fronts so easily that I ended up braking earlier (autocross/track) to reduce my chance of locking the front wheels. In the wet this was amplified. Do not be to terrified to do just the fronts, I ran mine like that for years using Porterfields R4S pads.

I believe the Protege or 929 clevis pin that attaches the rod to the pedal needs to be used. I just finished replacing my pedal assembly, and gave everything a good inspection before I finished up.

                so any...
                90-91 929 mc without abs
                and 90-94 protege bg booster?

also what year galant and size for the rear rotors for a awd gtx?
what year miata cal's for the rear?

i did the fronts on my 2wd bf(boosted bp car now) and iirc there were a few different sizes and maybe years, there was a nice post about on the old mazda323preformance.com, but that page is down again.

now i bought a gtx with the front galant/egt already done, and want to do the rear with the adapter plate to run miata cal's

My brake booster came off a 1994 auto tranny Protege/I bought a new 992 MC from Mazdaspeed for non ABS 929

Bob B posted the sizes in an earlier post. Any of the Gallant 4 bolt hole rotors in the 90-91 year range I think is correct.

We should put those part numbers for the rear rotors in the yahoo database. There was some confusion over exactly what year Gallant rotor to use. I was under the impression that the years were 88-89.

It looked like all the 4 bolt Galant rotors were all the same for a big year spread. 10.4 inches.

Since the fronts are hard to find also, I just ordered another spare set just in case.

I got them from www.partstrain.com for $33.20 each
                      Brembo disc: part# BR25363 $12 to ship.

Be advised that this rotor is the 266mm one. The Galant rotor comes in 3 sizes. 256mm 266mm (we use this one on the GTX) and the VR4 had 276mm fronts.

The 266mm are the perfect size for the EGT 14/22V caliper we use for this upgrade so the pads are in complete contact with the rotor.

bbundy- i had the galant front upgrade for over a year also using the protegebooster/929 MC upgrade and while doing several autoX events i NEVER had a problem with the bias being too much twords the front. The car felt MUCH better then stock and the only reason i dont have the galant front now is cause i converted to pro 4wd front knuckles on my GTX

I could lock my fronts pretty easily with just the front upgrade. Even on Race rubber. And, it was magnified in the wet. This was in very aggressive situations though. I was able to make it work just fine otherwise and you are correct. It did help in the overall braking department.

I used the Porterfield R4S pads front and rear

i have a drawing of the adapter plate, it is shaped like a dog bone, i was wondering you i could just keep it staight in the middle or would that interfer with other parts?

also i assume you need to cut the ears off the hub like the fronts and get extended wheel studs?

You are correct, the rear galant swap is done the same as the front. Rotor will be on the outside of the hub so longer studs are required and grinding down the ears on the hubs also.

I also have a set of the rear adaptor plates laying around if u need pics for referance let me know

yes post them up, like i said i have the drawings, but it would be easyer to just make it a squared instead of a dog bone shape.
