    Well there is actually a metal peice that goes into the tranny, the plastic peice is attached. Just be carefull not to break it. Some of them come out hard due to dirt falling in between the sensor and the tranny case.

      So the metal sleeve is supposed to come out, ok that would make sense since the top of the metal sleeve is pinched in to hold the plastic piece. Looks like another job for (shameless product plug) PB Blaster. Thanks.

        Don't use ATF in a Mazda gearbox, ford's retarded for recomending it. All Mazda G series boxes recomend standard gear lube (ie 75/90 GL4 type oil) and the trans shifts way better with it. I run Redline MT90 in my car which is a 70/80 IIRC, works great.

          Thanks bmike, I kinda wanted to use some synthetic gear oil anyway. I drained a little out of the other tranny looking for any trouble signs and did not find any, .....now that I think about it, it did seem alot thicker than regular ATF.
