be careful doing that. They sometimes have speed cameras on those. My friend got a ticket for going 165 mph in a 65 zone last year because the one he went past had a speed camera. Luckily, he fought the ticket and won, saying that the radar was defective because technically his car couldn't go that fast. (at least it couldn't stock. lol, his wasn't stock by any means. But the judge didn't know that....)My family has lots of bg's!

And to bring up the question, does a '87ish Escort share similarities with engine mounting and such, like to swap in BP's and KL to them?1993 Mercury Tracer, KLDE VItara build swap, Compound turbos, 12 injectors, 2 wastegates, 2 Megasquirts, 2 axles, 2 everything, why not
2nd Compounded KL in the world

Some things I have noticed now that I am FINALLY back in an EGT:
The EGT's center console sucks. Find a Protege one and swap it in. Just make sure if you have premium sound and airbag you move their respective modules.
My 1994 with airbag and R134 AC only has an adjustable link on one side. It's original on both sides, I tried to remove even the inner bolt...no dice. Was this a rolling change in 1994 (ie: some cars got it as parts ran out thing)? If it helps, mine is US built with a May 1994 prodo code.
When ordering parts for this car, I have to say it's a ProtoLX or else 99% of the time, it's not in stock haha. So that's a difference I guess, ProtoLX parts are in stock, EGTs are not.
Apparently, Ford decided that they needed to make the steering shaft unique as well. Mazda wheels will NOT fit the EGT...meaning you are left with not much of a choice...ugly and uglier. Bummer, I wanted to install my JDM Presso wheel. This I am sure could be rectified with a ProtoLX swap, but really, for a steering wheel? Nah, I'll just sell it to Bo or Kris, who will probably have a catfight over it.
JDM Proto wings FIT the EGT, but only JDM. For some reason, the LX wings didn't fit as well. I am sending my JDM wing out for paint right now.
Be careful when saying all BP05s are created equal. Apparently if your BP05 was mated to an auto for the first 120k of its life, it will dyno 12whp more than the BP you have more with more mods. That one I'm still scratching my head on...the BP05 in question did come from an LTS though...
I'm sure there will be more as my car is a 1994 haha. You want me to put that where?

You can swap the steering column from a Mazda BG to have the wheel option. Your guts behind the steering wheel for signals and what not should swap over from what I've read as well.
12whp more than what though? What were the base numbers comparing this to? The only thing that'd cause that much of a fluctuation would be ignition timing or maybe it's had a headgasket done and had to machine the head surface. 12whp is a huge difference between BPs-Jack

Correct. I found this out the hard way when I busted my race car's rack from crashing, and went to install an escort pony rack and found it was different and couldn't fit my steering column because of the couplers. I didn't want to swap the columns, so I just went out and bought another 323 rack and pinion. My family has lots of bg's!

That BP05 I yanked got resealed, dropped into a 1991 ProAWD with a GT3071 and pulled damn near 400 on the dyno. I think it may even be still running, this was like 8 years ago,You want me to put that where?
