The GT in the process of being disassembled....

    Next to the LX...

    The LX painted engine bay...

The before and after of the rear tail lights and reflector being painted. Don't mind the bad reflection. The newly painted parts reflect better then the old red at the moment.

    Update:
Found out the GT has a bent R/F control arm(kinda pissed me off but I don't need it). Having trouble removing the drive shafts. Seems to be a two piece on the pass side(has a torn boot, another thing to piss me off). If anyone knows how the get them apart I'd really appreciate it. Other then that, the harness is next to come out and I'm debating whether or not to run the cruise control for the GT on the LX. Also thinking about putting the two tone(grey/black) interior in the LX. LX currently has navy blue. There has been controversy over the color of the car. The girlfriend saw how the GT looked in black and fought until I changed my mind. So....... I'm changing the color from Rosso Alfa red to BMW charcoal black metallic.

Got the GT motor out yesterday.

Also put the GT wiring harness/ECU, powersteering lines, and most of the front suspension in. Reinstalled the brake master cyinder and converted the fuel return line to work with the GT's. Next step is to swap the throttle cables, pedal set, and hydroulic clutch setup. Then drop the motor in....

Update: The motor is in and everything is hooked up. All thats needed to make it "run" is a fuel filter on the firewall that I want to replace cuz its rotted, and throw a battery in.

The rest of the swap consists of the pedal swap for the standard and clutch setup, shift linkage put on, drive shafts thrown in, and figuring out how to wire the reverse harness on the front of the trany(manual 1.8 has a different plug and more wires then the 1.9 auto).

I'll have picks in the morning due to no camera on hand.

Sorry bout the delay. Had a job interview yesterday up in the city and it took all day. But I did manage to do some work this morning.

Starting with the pedal swap.IT SUCKED with one person. Highly recomend having a buddy help you out with this crap. The Brake booster is held on by the support braket for the pedals. But at the same time, the studs on the brake booster held the braket.....WTF!? Same thing for the clutch master cylinder. Had to cut carpet away to make things easier. Drop the steering wheel and disconnect the dash harness. Remove the guage cluster so the speedo cable that ran through the bracket was out of the way(had to swap guages and cables anyways do to a temp sensor missread on the LX cluster while BP is in) I HUGE cluster **** that I'm glad is over with.

          Removing the GT pedals(easy)

          Removing the LX pedals(a bitch)

          Both sets side by side

          The end result

Shots of the brake master cylinders of the auto and the stick. Notice that one has a hookup for a line to the clutch and one doesn't. Didn't notice till I had everything back in the car.

          The replacement clutch master cylinder

The Engine all together in the LX body.

          Poor raped GT

This is one thing that does suck about the swap. My original miles and now what I have to look a everytime I'm in the damn thing

Here is the last thing to be installed on the car is soon as I get some bushings. The shifter was super sloppy. before I took it out.

This was a gift from a friend. Bought it for his miata and ended up being the one for a EGT. Free HP....!!!

Got some more done tonight too. The dash harness is out of the GT but it wasn't preaty and plastic trim broke like crazy. I need to figure out how to bypass that damn neutral switch and figure out where the wires going to the ECU to prevent me from destroying the good interior.

The driveshafts are in and I removed the heat shield on the front section of the exhaust to fit in the shift linkage. Bushings are going to have to wait. And they arent hard to recplace anyways. Front brakes are on as well.

Here is the front brakes assembled and the driveshaft installed.

Underneath where the heat shield used to be. Next pic is the heat shield itself

Ok now she is as clean as it gets before I prep the car for painting. There is also a couple pull videos. I didn't go from a dead start cuz I don't want to **** up the trany till I have a spare. The car is also filled with parts and 3 other people.(testing out the new digital camera on the way back home from the store). Its a crappy vid but its and Idea of what I have at the moment. its from 5-90mph

Ya just that line on top of the manifold. It was stretched. So even tho I put the screw in it, it still leaked. Put caps on the holes and turned the throttle body down. Someone messed with it before(wear marks on the screw). Runs great. Took it to work a couple times and she made it and still running strong. Bought a muffler and now looking for a universal cat to finish my home made exhaust. Gona grab a exhaust manifold and cut the flange off to make a 4-2-1 header so everything matches.

Ya that car is super clean. If he is willing to find the donor car I can help him get it in.

As for sunday I'm gona relax with my fiance and the family. So yard for me is a no go this week. Not the next either due to my family's easter. Sorry bout the interior parts. I've been exhausted every time I get home. They are yours, I just have to take the time and pull what is left out of it. Possibly tomorrow...
