    V6 swap MX3 LCAs?

Im doing the V6 swap in the escort and ive read about escortluver19 and his swaps and people have told me i need to swap out for MX3 LCAs (lower control arms?)

Do i need to swap out the spindle(hub all that?) and LCAs?

Can i use a 4cylinder car? or do i need to use a V6 car?

    thanks

you dont even need them at all. or any other part of the mx3 suspension. whatever suspension you have now is fine if you use a BP kia drivers axle. if you use the longer v6 mx3 driver's axle, you will need to swap both control arm's to fit it without it binding up.

dunno. the v6 mx3 passenger axle doesnt bind up or have any sort of issue on the stock protege set up. so never had a reason to figure out a different set up.

but if you try the v6 mx3 axle on stock protege suspension on the driver's side. you cant even bolt the hub to the strut while the axle is in the hub. you have to use a jack to convince it. and then it thunks like a bitch when you try to drive on it. the BP kia axle is like 1/4in shorter, and make's a world of difference. fix's all the issue's.

sounds like the exact issue i had with my toyota axles. i used some rx7 balljoints to widen my track slightly, then fixed the excessive camber with camber plates..

yea. we thought the mx3 control arm's were gonna have to be swapped. which sucked.. till the BF dood mentioned the BP kia axle. which i just happen to still have that full BP kia trans set up. def alot easier!

i replaced the driver side axle and it helped but the car still has a major vibration!!! i have Kia axle on the driver side

had an mx3 on passenger side but motor and trans was still rocking side to side in the engine bay causing the car to vibrate badly in second gear!!! would the mx3 LCAs not fix this problem?? i may need to get another mx3 axle and take a video of it cause its crazy

almost sounds like a mount issue. is your motor sitting in your engine bay correctly, or is at an slight angle? did you swap the big bracket that your passenger side engine mount sits in, that bolts to the engine bay?

Yup. U need that bracket off a v6 mx3. The stock protege 1 will make the motor sit at an angle. It bolts to the engine bay, and then the passenger motor mount slides into that bracket.

the motor doesnt look like its crooked but the mount kinda does?

Passenger side mount. That braket. I can snap a pic later but its the metal braket that the bolt goes thru and is attached to the body by 4 10 or 12mm bolts

yup. its like 4 12mm bolts that hold it on. its REALLY easy to grab if there's no motor in it. its not welded on or anything. it might have some seam sealer on it though that might give it the look of being welded on.
