    some bp turbo build help

just bought a 91 gt in need of a clutch for dirt cheap. I already own a 97 wagon. plan is to boost it low psi for now while i peice together whats needed to run high boost. have some questions.

-what is best manifold for this? heard miata works but have to flip then modify radiator?
-best clutch to throw in to hold the power gain?
    -exhaust size?
    -intercooler piping size?

may sound newbish but im not a beginner to cars, just this platform. so all help is greatly appreciated and if you happen to have parts i need, please lmk

secondary: motor is high mileage and replacing before go high boost. just need some quick boost satisfaction while working on it. so questions is whats best route.
-buy a new gtx motor and all supporting stuff
    - grab low mile 1.8 and boost it
-grab low mile 1.8 and put new pistons/rods for lower compression and strength
-rebuild my motor (over 200k) with pistons/rods and whatever you all would suggest.

as a college student things are on budget but going to make it happen just need everyones opinion. like idea of building 1.8 if can be just as strong/powerfull for same or less money then buying gtx. also will be running megasquirt

    thanks
    dale

if u want to boost on a budget get a stock bp26 exhaust manifold ,pick up a vj11 turbo from the junk yard i believe they came on the turbo probes forget which years i believe 90-95 or somthing in those years on the probes you will have to slot the the vj11 bolt holes to look like a iron cross to use with the bp26 mani

ps dont forget the downpipe for the vj11 turbo

also pick up a horseshoe intercooler from the junk yard
i have some f2t 330cc injectors forsale that would be perfect to get you started for low boost

theirs also more stuff but im tired right now so use the search button as this topic has ben talked about a million times lol

I'm on feoa and did a bunch of research on turboing a 1.9 with 2.0 head and dsm mani etc. I have a front mount, a t25 turbo (prob won't use now) and some knowledge on how turbo systems work. And idk about where you're from but I'm not finding a probe turbo at my junkyard...

Also, hoping to just use my fmu for low boost while waiting for money for ms and dyno. A set up that would work better with an fmu?

What do you call a low budget?

Sometimes its better to just buy a gtx setup, less headaches and more reliable on the long run. Usually going custom, and now that you say your local jy does not have anything, will spend more money.

ANy pics of the dirt cheap scort?

Can I post pics here with low post? And cars from Utah brought into ny this summer and rust free except for a scratch on the read fender which is just surface. Underbody, wheel wells, engine capartment are all spotless. Blown away by interior condition, all fabric looks brand new (grey with red trim on seats). And junkyard has plenty of escorts and a couple 1.8 vehicles. Just not a single turbo vehicle. (there's a Saab turbo that someone took saws all to first day). I'm a newb to the 1.8 motors but is a grc block different or just the internals? Budget wise, I can buy parts each paycheck (say buy pistons after a couple weeks, rods a mnth later etc) rather then save to buy a gtx setup which is more fun to my simple mind but if stronger and more price sensative then I'll go that route

renting tow dolly just was concern of truck. and now have friend commited to sunday (changing his oil and looking into check engine light issue lol) and be here sunday night. then hitting up pickapart for front fender so car looks mint (previous owner removed to fix dent and didnt work out lol) then ordering a clutch and pulling tranny...

biggest question is what clutch? heard people use ebay clutches but what one has people had luck with? rather not spend over $200 on clutch for now. an suggestions?

dont get an ebay clutch, i cant wait to get my xtd stage 3 out of my car and put the fidanza 4.3 in.... if you want a cheap clutch just to use for now ill give you the one i took out of mine when i turboed it cheap, like 25 bucks..... its a stock replacement but still good just not for boost, it let go on me when i hit about 6 grand at 18psi and i pulled it a few weeks after..... otherwise get a spec, act or something better and be done.....

i would give kyclutch a call. they custom make clutches. might be able to make something for you. or i know jon has a good clutch that is mated to a pressure plate that you could prob talk to him about.
