I know of a stock looking RWD 351w powered 95 Escort GT that is being built currently, for street racing purposes I believe... I cannot disclose who is building it though, as I was swore to secrecy. I will say that this person is a member here, and maybe they will chime in if/when they are ready...
    Current:
    68 Torino GT Fastback
    86 MR2
    91 F150
    94 Escort Wagon BP swap
    99 Escort Wagon BP swap
    00 Miata LS
    08 Arrow AX8
    14 Mazda5

I so want to find a cheap ae86 and stick a 1uz/w75 in it. Swap has been done many times, all parts are available, no chassis mods needed, and the idea of that car making the Right Noise is amusing...
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Contact Jim Pierce--he's a chassis engineer. He'll more than likely know what to tell you for your goals.

the Right Noise for an 86 comes from a high-strung N/A four-banger, not a underpowered boat anchor.

besides, if you're going to V8-swap it, you might as well use a potato potato LSx and be able to make real power...

Should i just contact jim off the piercemotorsports website? - prolly a dumb question but asking it. well no matter what anyone one says, im gonna have my fun with this. found a partout miata too for 500 that i made an offer on, if all else fails ill buy it, break out the tools, pull both rear subframes and make my own that breeds the 2 together in a functioning form.

                      (screw it)

1uz can be had for likie 100 bux. I can't get an ls anything for that.

Seems everyone is looking for handouts these days. If you can't even do your own research, I really don't see it happening... Word on the skreet around here, there's a beefy rear that will tuck under a BG irs w/ 8.8.. nuff said!
