how were the bearing clearances on those rods? looks good !
Perfect lol the spec is between 0.0011"-0.0027" with 0.0040 max and I was right at 0.0015" on all four. The biggest pita is drilling this mbsp to clear the ARP main studs. :/ I have it drilled to the biggest bit I had, but I'm aquiring a 1/2" drill bit soon...
Yeah I bought em on ebay. They came from a machine shop in Texas called Adept Performance. The site has been closed due to non-payment lol that's not good. Hopefully they're good rods. They looked/felt great. I've been to the website before. Hopefully it comes back.
Cool! I see a lot of the H beams on ebay, just wasn't sure if you went that route or not. Glad to see the machine work was even across the board tho! That's promising. I wonder how even they were in weight
Hopefully it gets put back on. It said it was shut down due to non-payment to the server or whatever. They have 30 days before it's completely deleted. I had them all weighed at the machine shop when he balanced the rotating assembly. He said they were all the same weight/or close enough...idk sometimes I wonder about people. :/ no marks were made anywhere on any of the rods, but he was supposed to balance everything since I paid for it...which means either they were all the same weight/or he didn't do what I paid him to do.
You can balance pistons and rod assemblies yourself.
The crank has to be done by the machine shop.
Read page 2 of this article at the top of the page about balancing your piston/rod assemblies plus some google searching will get you more information as well.

Soon soon soon I start my new job Saturday so I can get some income...I'm pretty much out of money and I'll need to buy all the fluids and other crap...Here's an update pic. I still wanna get the valve cover powder coated but I don't have the money for it. I'll probably just clean it up and put it on for now...
sweet!!! looks great man! hows your oil return line looking? I've never been to happy with mine lol
Also you can easily ditch that plastic inlet pipe with a 45 degree 1.75-2.5" reducer, and a 45 degree pipe, such a better flowing setup over the stock pancake pipe LOL
That's something else I'll have to do when I get some money rollin' in lol you don't need that 'cut' front motor mount thing that I've seen do ya? I got the timing belt on tonight. Everything lined up perfectly and at tdc. ^I haven't gotten an oil return line yet lol the oil outlet for the turbo and the tapped inlet on the pan is like 3 inches apart haha I'm pretty much replacing all the heater hose and vacuum hose as I go.
yea the VJ20 to OE pan hose is a BITCH. I've got a spare oil pan and I plan on relocating the fitting once I find out how far 3.5L of fluid goes up on the pan (capacity is 3.8, but I figure SOME has to be circulating )
Also nope, OE front mount for me Just have to grind/cut the clutch line stud so it doesn't rub...I trimmed mine but it does touch EVER so slightly lol...not enuff for me to care tho.
Update..
Now I gotta touch up the paint lol probably woulda went smoother if I didn't have the tranny mount on backwards...ugh :/ but she's in now! lol
