Finishing up the small stuff rebuilding the front calipers. Rear brakes and suspension is all assembled just e brake cables left and then just need to bleed the system. The car still won't start I'm going to check the compression on this junk yard engine that's about all thats left that I can think of I already switched the engine and injector harness that got rid of the two engine codes I had then I found that 3 of the 4 injectors were not opening so now I have fuel but still a no start. Thats ok we are nearing the end of the tunnel.
Had some compression problems with the engine so I did a leak down had air blowing by the exhaust valves so I tore it down and lapped them back in it had a lot of carbon build up on the valve seats. I also took out the pitons cleaned them and reset the ring gaps. The car still won't start I suspect another electrical demon lurking too many people have had their hands on this car. I did manage to get the e brake cables and exhaust shields on and bolted up 90% of the front suspension so I put some wheels on it and pushed it outside and washed the 3 years worth of dust off of it.
No I didn't bother with a water leak down after or doing any port work I need the car running and out of the garage I have to bring home Scrat since my friend decided to buy a new race car so it's crunch time. And thank you I bought that tool many years ago just for these heads it makes it a lot easier to tear down and put back together. It sits in my giant tool box that I have since retired to my garage since I no longer turn wrenches for a living.
Shortly after this video was taken the car stopped running again. I have since parted it out and had someone drag it out of my garage. I had to throw in the towel it's snowing here already and I had to put Scrat in the garage so a new build thread is coming.
what was the cause of it stopping running yet again?
At this point I think we have to chalk it up to ghosts living inside that motor or something. I've never in my life heard of anyone having this much trouble getting a BP to run, let alone in the hands of someone as experienced as Jay.

The last time I did a leak down it seemed to keep washing down the cylinders. Still had the factory cross hatching on it. I tried everything short of re honing. At this point I'm just going to tear it down to a bare block and build it as a spare for my other car.
Hey, I'm the guy that dragged it onto the trailer that one time!

Some people are like slinkies. They're not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
I took it off the trailer by myself with a tractor and alot of patience.
