    so with the update with the head it did take some time. once u have the head bolts removed take the engine mount off the passenger side there wiull be bolts under the intake beside's the alternater not sure if u guys will have to but i had to take the allen bolts out of the head not sure if u will have to also just hopefully u guys are smarter than me if u do the same thing i'm doing which is building my moter but when u take the caps off the connecting rod's MAKE SURE U PUT THEM ON THE SAME WAY trust me now i gotta spend three fifty to get new bearings

      If not mistaken all BP kias have the slightly domed pistons, and yes those motors can handle boost.

      Just make sure to have the head revised by a machine shop to make sure it is flat and not warped. I have had a Kia cylinder head boosting it 12 to 15 psi with a T3/T4 all day, took it out as I just finished forging all internals. Took it to the machine shop for magnaflux and pressure test, all good with flying colors, and valves are sealing properly.

      And we are talking about an engine that when I took out the rods 3 were bent. It never detonated, had the wideband in the 12 on full boost.

      By the way the stock header is more of a performance header with individual runners, not cast steel like the Mazdas or Scorts. My only suggestion if you get your hands on a Kia header is to go 2.25 right at the point where all four runners meet.
