the stock desing is way to small about 15/8 of an inch, has that bottle neck effect. from my research a lot of the headers out there are about 21/2 inches. a header cost a bit more than 200.00 dollars, i did this one for about 40.00. also there is more to it, i ported the humps (welds) inside the runners to make them smooth and run a weld seem on the out side to reinforce them.inside the collector i did the same thing to have a smoth path.

also you have to remember that if you increase incoming air and fuel you have to take care of the expend gases.but friend i know you know that. by the way how is your project coming?

Nice, I'm curious to how I'd tune my kia if I boost it, and what supporting mods id need in the fuel supply region.

I think I wanna do a full protege brake conversion and get some used coil overs. But I'd also like to do the bushings while I'm at it

check the kia ls has rear disc brakes, go to rockauto.com so you can do a comparison(sorry for all the misspelling)on the subject of going boosted some of the guys can answer that, im going n/a for now so i can work all the bugs out. for me is much simpler working from the bottom up. i want everything to be set first like exhaust and fuel and such things then will be a lot easer to cross over. i dont want to start with the mess so early.

i dont like the design for the rear sephia disc brakes. thats why i want a protege rear set up at least. if not the full.

If you're wanting to go boost, then I'd personally save for a MegaSquirt system, there's NUMEROUS people on this forum running all the different version of MegaSquirt; Ms1, Ms2, Ms3.

You can get it running on the n/a setup and then start piecing together your manifold/turbo/wastegate/injectors/fmic setup

Other wise you'd have to convert your Kia engine management over to the 90-94 Protege/91-95 Escort GT/Tracer LTS since your Kia uses a different setup for running the BP turbo ECUs (GTX or GTR)
