UPDATE:

Honed the block today. It was an.... interesting process. took an hour or two.
But from what both the teachers told me i did a lot better than students normally do. Everything is right on to the thousandth and nice and straight.

and thanks to the wonderful schedule at school ive got engines lab tomorrow as well so there should be another update then.

UPDATE:

Head got thrown in the oven, should get blasted clean next week thursday:



And my block is cleaned and officially ready for assembly. just waiting on money, parts, and getting my crankshaft balanced. :D

UPDATE:

So the head is partly blasted, but its getting there. Someone else jumped in the blaster before i had the chance to so only had about 30 min to work on it, but the parts i did get look brand new. Pics should be up next week as long as it gets finished.

ill keep my eyes open and let you know if i see anything. but i bet harbor freight would be best for buying new.

got some more parts ordered and on their way. but im at a stand still on one thing. springs for the valves. im looking at the supertech dual spring kits and dont know what the difference between the 70lb and 74lb sets are. going to be ordering supertech valves as well. someone want to enlighten me on the differences??

dont blast where the cams have friction, that's the "bearing" for the cams, you blast those out and the cams will grind your cyl head to **** lol.

im pretty must just blasting all the s*** leftover from the oil thats caked on the inside of the head.

Nothing huge, still waiting on parts to come in but got the oil pan blasted and the valve cover looking pretty damn good:

so nothing engine related but got a new steering wheel in and my suspension came in finally.

is the center strip on your steering wheel just slightly off? cause mine is.

yeah just a little bit. cheap hub, it happens. itll get fixed next time i get an alignment.

i don't mean the hub, the little yellow bit, on mine it's just slightly off center, my hub is way off center, but that's my own fault.
