i picked up a new tank of welding gas. but i've been sick for a good week. & haven't been doing a whole lot.

the first 2 bars i made i wasn't happy with the quality of the welds i made. so im still not sure what i'll be doing with em yet. likely pawn em off cheaply to some locals.

i'll get 2 whipped up this week completed with better welds

If you give me the exact length of this I could see if it fits my ZX2 (bg chassis), the control arms are the same as an MX3 only 1/2" shorter on the ends and the stab links are slightly different.

im pretty sure it would fit a zx2. your welcome to come up & test fit one.
It would be significantly easier that route.

In its current state it cannot be driven up there. I tried to find some mx3s by me but I cant seem to find any. Maybe someone here can measure the distance between the rails? As long as the distance is the same I can make it work.

                    Comment

You should just give an overall finished length of one of your MX3 bars, Ryan, and compare it to the length between framerails on a ZX2. Thats pretty much the be all end all to that discussion, no?

its a little more finicky then that beau.
first of all there is ~+/- 3.5" of adjustment Let alone placement of the bar isn't always mirrored to the previous ( im not a machine assembly line )

shortly, chillenzx I make bars to fit the BG chassis- which in this case is more fitting of the situation your asking
zx2/BG tow hooks are identical. distance between the framerails however, im not certain- i'll have to get back to you on that tonight (i just pulled my radiator out so i have easy access to measure that)

36.25" across, the rails sit higher up and a bracket comes straight down on each side with built in tow hooks. There is a hole above the tow hooks approximately 1.5" above and another hole a few inches higher. It would be badass if you could have one made, I'm pretty sure you or I could sell a few of them over at the teamzx2 forums. If you have any bg ones made I would prefer to try that one vs the mx3 version you have left. Unfortunatly I just joined up here recently and didn't even know about these fabrications going on. I'm excited about finding this place.

yeah, the zx2 dudes are building some high powered rides, and I'm betting these would sell very well there.

Also, Ryan, don't forget that I'd test fit a bar setup for you on my zx2 to make sure it fits.

brody, is it feasible for you to come down some time & test fit one of the bars i have made up??

Chillenzx the BG frame rails are ~36 1/8" - 36 1/4" so your in luck there
from the back of the towhook (radiator supportside) to the lip @ the inner LCA point is ~21.5" - 21 5/8" as shown. (sorry the picture is blurry)

this should give you some indication as to the radiator support to subframe/LCA distance.

                              let me know

Sorry, but it's just not feasible. I just can't afford to drive that far right now, as I only budgeted so much for gas when I was working over the summer, and it all has to go towards getting to and from college. Not to mention I don't have time to drive down there, as I have tons of school work. I'd take a few hours to help you if you came here, but I don't have 2 hours each way to drive there and back, plus whatever amount of time it takes to test fit the bars.
