Yea, Been running the 93+ struts since 2002 on my old DTM 89pgt. You will find that most every lowered 1st gen is usually riding on 2nd gen 93+ struts generally. There's more options, and easier to source along with being lower.

Id add a OEM 90-92 MX6GT rear strut tower bar and lower tie bar to your collection while your at it. Will make a nice solid rear set up.

Even the rear struts? I didn't know there's any benefit to those lol. I was thinking about getting some Yonaka coilovers for the GE for about 5 hours, but I've decided to go with KYBs and a sleeve kit instead LOL

        oh btw

On my DTM 89gt, yes, i had all four as i had purchased them 2nd hand, and they were still an upgrade over blown stock stuff. But generally there not worth the effort in the rear.

If you read on the forums, most everyone always buys 2nd gen fronts since they bolt on, and the 1st gen rears. There just is no reason to do the work involved to fit the rears for zero upgrade.

I recommend not going with the coil over sleeves on the KYB GR2's. Ive blown out two sets of the GR2's so far with very little actual driving. They are a OEM replacement and not designed for any kind of drop. Course ive also blown out a set of Blues from my Ground controls also. Skip past the Drop Zone coil sleeve kit for these cars also. The spring rate is too much and gives a bumpy ride i never liked. I removed my Dropzone coils for the Ground Control ones that i have on there now. I hope to save and actually swap the car over to some full coilovers at some point before im driving it again though.

I'll be swapping in the sleeve kit from the BG, and I'm only lowering the car about 1.5" in total, not going for show, more for geometry and clearance for daily status haha. Springs rates are 350 front on a 7" spring and 200 rear with a 10" spring, so it should be fairly smooth since Ground Controls are 375f/250r and they usually ride a bit rough due to higher spring rates. So I'm hoping for a firm, but reasonable ride.

On another note! Got my 80mm couplers in the mail today! Yes 80mm lol, that's the throttle body and air flow meter OD, both measured around 83mm at the lip of both throttle body and air flow meter, but the body itself was 80.5mm

smart thinking on the 80mm couplers. that'll save you a serious headache when trying to force an undersized coupler onto the AFM (done that learned the hardway)

I have a set of sleeves/coilover setup if you need a replacement let me know

Damn me and my practical thinking...lol...

Well since the BG isn't going to be around long after the snow is gone and I'll be out of a car for a while (was considering selling the 626 and getting something "more fun" as a DD...but then talked it over with a few friends and realized I probably won't break even with the 626 if I sell it, and a "fun car" would cost me minimum 3k plus modifications...

So I'm pretty sure the 626 will be F2T converted down the road, since an FE3 swap requires me to either go standalone or import a GD chassis FE3 engine harness/ECU/MAF which sounds expensive, and the F2T has local parts available.

For now I'll stick with the rust repair, coilover sleeves, exhaust, intake work, and BBS rims/tires

Many people have utilized F2T management........ so whats the issue with a FE3>?? if you feel like driving cross country there is a free FE3 (check the mx6.com FE3 FS items thread)

also. quit changing your mind & being so indecisive about your cars. im beginning to think your turning female on us

Haha well the only thing that's changing is the 626 is getting about 1k more worth of parts from the BG part out, and I save for something more radical than an RX7.

Well I have a line up on the stock intercooler and pipes, and the manifold/turbo/downpipe. I just need to figure out fuel/timing management...not overly fond of swapping in a harness and to lose my cruise control lol, so I'm going to keep an ear to the ground about a piggyback system, AEM FI/C seems like a solid unit, and might work with the F2 air flow meter (goes above 5v)

Vacuum operated on the F2 and electronically controlled in the F2T. That's about 30% of the reason I don't want to swap harnesses and ECUs over...that there is about the other 70% LOL. I'm tired of using +20yr old harnesses in +20yr old vehicles haha. It's not easy finding a good harness as you know Ryan, lot of possibilities for broken or contaminated wires and missing plug ends.
