I'm actually throwing the idea around the house and haven't gotten any negative feed back, so I might be in... but I'll have my favorite little co-pilot with me this year (My son Andy). That way I won't have to share a bed with anyone "short" that I am not related too!

That is awesome. I plan on going too if somebody plans this out. Of the three trips that I have done, this past year one has been the best. Hopefully we can top that. And now we know that we can make it even through a hurricane.
Btw, Andy is going to make a great copilot/navigator. Teach him to read before we go and he can sit there and go "Hard right"... just like they do in WRC. wouldn't that be awesome

I plan on coming down from Southern Ohio. Prolly Leave late Thursday/Early Friday?
Any ideas on what hotels?
check the nopi website. they have some official hotels but only a couple are cheap and they are not that close to the track. there are fairly cheap (under $65) hotels right around thet track but they fill up early. i suggest you reserve now at one of those , you can always cancel later. i think i started looking for rooms in may last year and many hotels closer to the track were full. if i was planning it for our club this year, i would reserve rooms now. but since i am not, somebody else should start doing it.

well since no one else seems to be voluteering, me and Dima are going to handle planning the trip this year. everyone that went last year knows how much fun we had, and i would like for this years trip to be even better! one improvement would be actually having a place to stay ahead of time if we decide to go to the Dragon again.
im already looking into hotel options for Atlanta, but i need to know if we want to just go straight to NOPI or if we want to do a side trip again. i personally would like to make it a long trip again, but others may not want to. so im asking 3 things from each member....
1. are you going on the trip this year?
2. what is the likelyhood that you are not going to cancel going?
3. do you want to go straight to NOPI or do you want to add in a side trip?
this information will really help us start planning this trip. there are only 6 months and 6 days left until NOPI so we really need to get this going if we are going to attend as a club. i will be posting updates on here, as well as on our website at this address http://www.ipmcsfl.com/nopi.htm. if anyone has any questions or concerns you can post them here or email me directly at admin@ipmcsfl.com. thanks.
p.s. - if a mod would please sticky this thread i would appreciate it. thanks!

I'm happy because Dima speeds, which makes him happy. He seems to be happy only when speeding, which makes me happy. And when I'm happy people around me are able to live another day. If you are alive right now, you should thank Dima.

Ok, ok... force me into a decision!
Yes I am going, but my son is coming with... (Sorry Eric, no cuddling with me), I will not cancel unless there is a family emergency, and I'm still debating on the side trip. Promise me no rain, and I'm there. Promise me a no hassle place to stay at while it rains and I'm in most definitely. Cabins anyone?

There are basically 2 DECENT places to stay that i know of if we are talking about the dragon. The house we stayed at or the hotel in robinsville. The house was nice and exciting. It was great to have a whole house to ourselves and to have all cars right in front of it.
the downside is that it was secluded (there is no phone, cell phones don't work, god forbid we need help), there is no road leading to the house, there is no food nearby and it is fairly far from the dragon. luckily the phreaking mountain didn't slide on top of us.
the hotel in robinsville is right across the supermarket and gas stations. you can also get car service there if need be. the hotel is much closer to the dragon and will allow us to get more runs in at the dragon especially if its not raining. the only downside is that its a little more expensive.
while the house was a great experience, taking all of the above factors into account, i would lean towards getting rooms at the hotel. that's my opinion.
i do hope others would provide their opinion as to where to stay.
P.S. rene, car show on sunday?
