hey guys, I posted a thread in msprotege to get the state meet squared away. I think we oughta have it where you will be that day, since we can have a better turnout.
our monthly meet is friday night (jun 24th). We will be deciding what day, either sat or sun, we are going to be in Daytona. You all are welcome to meet us there, just give us until this saturday to post it.
There is no problem driving on the beach, but it'll cost every car between $5.00 and $10.00 for admission (yes to drive on the beach). I don't remember the exact number. It doesn't matter to me, considering that i've already spent $2,000.00 in gas to drive from ft lauderdale to daytona.
As far as the bbq thing... I really don't know. I remember bbqing on the beach before, but i don't know if it is allowed. I know they have little kiosk/vans that sell food and rent boogie boards, etc. I don't know of any stationary bbq's like they have at Markham Park so that would lead me to believe that u can't bbq. I also don't know of ANY parks near the beach. I always spent beach days in South Daytona, down by Ponce Inlet.
I suggest that we all grab coolers and buy like subway or something it will be alot easier.
It seems to me that everyone else in the state wants to do it on saturday. If we do that, then we should be up there by like 10:00am sat party the whole day and then drive the hour to orlando and crash there. We can party downtown, or we could call it quits and go to a theme park on sunday. It's also closer to home than daytona.
Can someone please forward this to all the other forums, please?
I just called the Beach Department for Volusia County. It is $5.00 per vehicle per day to drive on the beach in selected areas. If we drive in the conservation areas, we go to jail. No alcohol, period.
We can BBQ, as long as we bring the grills out there. No open pit BBQing. We MUST take the ashes with us when we leave, too.
So maybe we oughta hit Publix up for subs or something. I got a big cooler with wheels that I can bring. Maybe we can all bring something? Whoever brought the pasta salad to the Orlando Meet, please bring that to this one if you come! That was awesome!

I'm happy because Dima speeds, which makes him happy. He seems to be happy only when speeding, which makes me happy. And when I'm happy people around me are able to live another day. If you are alive right now, you should thank Dima.
for those of you that did not go out with us after the Towers meeting....
we will be meeting at the Circuit City located on Okeechobee Rd. right off of I-95 on July 30, 2005 at 7am. we will roll out no later than 8am. we will then proceed to drive northbound on I-95 to Daytona to meet with the central FL crew. Sean actually knows exactly where we are going so we are just going to use the "follow the guy in front of you" rule for directions.
after we are done in Daytona we are going to head west to Orlando for the night. it has not been decided what we are going to do when we make it to Orlando. so any ideas/suggestions are welcome.

Eric and everyone, the above mentioned Circuit City is left of I-95. Left would be west of I-95. I would also be on the North side of Okeechobee Rd.

We also decided last night that we are going to meet at the dog track right next to speedway at 11:30am prompt.
For those of you who don't know where this is...
coming from the north: Take I-95 South to OLD exit 87. Head east about a mile. Speedway and dog track on the right.
Coming from the south: Take I-95 North to OLD exit 87. Head east about a mile.
Speedway and dog track on right.
Coming from west: Take I-4 east to I-95. Head north to the next exit which is the OLD exit 87. Speed way and dog track are on right.
OLD exit 87 is also known as International Speedway (dr?)(rd?)(ave?). I don't know the number of the new exit, but it's somewhere in the mid to upper 200's.
If anyone knows the new exit number, please post it.
take I-75 south to SR 326. SR 326 cuts off ocala and meets up with SR 40 after about twenty minutes. If this is too confusing,... take I-75 south to SR 40 in Ocala.
Take SR 40 over to I-95 after like another 45-60 miles (from the 326 intersection). Head south for about fifteen minutes on I-95 It should be like 3 or 4 exits (they keep adding exits in this area). Get off at OLD exit 87. Head east about a mile, speedway and dogtrack on right.
I started a thread on msprotege of who is bringing what. Either post there, or PM me the info, and I will add it there for you. Last hting we need is 30 coolers with water and soda.
