did you ever hear back about the hotel situation?

yeah, i told the guys at the meet what is up.

well, the manager at the "good" hotel is being a dick. either he wants more than $55 a night from us or he doesn't want a car club staying there. obviously i don't think we should be paying a $500 (that is $500) 2 MONTHS IN ADVANCE and have to cancel unneeded rooms, again, 2 MONTSH IN ADVANCE. screw them.

unless your friend can get us into mariott, we will be staying at $60 per night at days inn forest park/airport east (official nopi hotel). there will be other protege/mazda owners staying there too so it will be fun. this hotel has outside corridors and an outside pool (which was covered last time either due to repair or to the fact that they don't want a buch of young people using it). the good thing is, after i bitched at them last time, they did provide us with a garden hose to wash the cars. so hopefully this won't be a problem this year. the hotel is right of i75 exit 237 (IIRC) and i can find it with my eyes closed. although it is not that close to the speedway (13 miles) it is easy to get there from the hotel. and i know a shortcut which you guys will LOVE. any questions, just ask.

btw, i spend half a day yester and missed my class trying to figure it out. i was on the phone with choice hotels group sales for a long time and she said there is nothing they can do since hotels are allowed to set their own terms. she also checked on other properties for me but nothing was available for so many people. i also went to the AAA office on university in lauderhill to see what they can do. and she did not find any cheap hotels with enough rooms either. now you guys understand why i was rushing to get organizing done. if we would have waited, we wouldn't have gotten the days inn either.

we'll do the organizing the smart way. no need for everyone to bring the same stuff. some people will bring this and some people will bring that.
