why is the BP so damn hard to find all of a sudden?!

about 6-8 months ago, they were all over the place in the junkyards... now it seems that they are nowhere to be found... its a pain in the ass, because my B6 died, and so now ive got the kick in the ass that i need to do a BP swap, and i cant find one to save my soul. both arlington and lynnwood pull a parts dont have one... so does anyone know of any other self service junkyard out there that i could try? im in whatcom county, so if its within the whatcom-skagit-snohomish county area, thats definitely a plus... maybe one of you has a spare one you'd be willing to get rid of?

    thanks guys,
    Josh

lakewood currently has a protege lx, but I took the exhaust cam out of it, and soon the rods will also be in my possession.

The motor would most likely need a rebuild anyway, since I think the motor overheated and that's why the car is in the yard to begin with, upper radiator hose is bulged and split at the thermostat housing. It's SUPER clean inside and out.

To bad if I knew sooner I could have gotten you a complete Canadain GT Protege for 500 bucks . Looked at one a few weeks ago. It was a little rough but it ran and had life in it still .

lakewood is a bit south of tacoma. it's PAP just like lynnwood's. same company. plenty of DX protege's if you want to go the B8 route for now.

They should with out any issues ... the Canadain GT protege was just a special model with specific interior like the GTX/GTR models . standard BP motor like the rest of the models which used them , 1991-97 ford escort GT would be a another model to search for a BP motor , ecu , etc

well i already have a BP10 ecu, thanks to MinkelR, he gave it to me the other day when my truck overheated just down the road from him, and thanks to CaymenEGT91, i found a BP out of a 91 EGT with 94K on it for a hundred bucks down in Portland, OR. so tomorrow night me and a buddy are hoppin in the eclipse and pickin it up first thing in the morning on wednesday. but now im curious... how many self service yard are there here in Washington?
