I don't remember the car being in production in 2001 as it is now. It was a concept in '01

Linkage? That's a bit hard to believe, even on slicks. I know it's TT and like 700hp, but 1.6 seems a BIT fast.

they could probably get that thing to 100 and back to a stop, do a burn out, paralel park, check all his mirrors, switch cds, change the oil, check the tire psi and then turn it off, get out, arm it, and go inside his house to watch everybody loves raymond, before my car even got to 60mph

                all with the A/C running.

Sounds almost as exciting as the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Although 0-60 is 3.8 seconds, it's still powered by a Supercharged 5.5L V8, it still packs 617 HP at the wheels, comes equipped with an air brake that allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 120 to 0 in 240 feet OR 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. Fans of Top Gear would know what I'm talking about. As for a beefed up Lingenfelter Vette, I'll call bull**** on that one. The model delivered to Car and Driver was the 427.6 Cubic inch, turbo charged Z06 Corvette. It too comes well equipped, but only boasts 500 bhp, 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, 0-100 in 7.8 seconds, and a quarter time of 11.7sec @ 124mph.

Actually, correction! That must have been a different version of the Lingenfelter with the same engine, except a single turbo charger? HOWEVER, that link you posted Joe must have further modifications, as the 2005 Z06 TT package Lingenfelter offers doesn't boast such fast speeds. http://www.lingenfelter.com/pack_cor_c5_725.htm My bad.

1.9 seconds may be attainable on slicks, but certainly not street tires. Freaking motogp bikes can't even accelerate that fast.
