    Compressor nut torque specs...

    Hi everyone:

Before I get burned just to clarify I did a search with compressor torque specs, nut, assembly etc in regards to the question as followed.

What is the torque specs of the nut holding the turbo shaft together?

I got this old RX-7 turbine which I took apart for inspection and was putting it back together and so when installing the nut had my doubt on how much to tighten it.

    Thanks in advance

Not being an expert .. Do you not need to reballance the shaft and impeller assy if you touch that nut ?

not always true, i honestly read up for like a month on rebuilding them, not that it was hard, it really took longer to change the c clips out than anything.... but if you loosen it, make sure you mark the wheels, like say a mark on the exhaust blades, and one on the chra next to it, then the same on the cold side blades. i know its cheap to send out and have balanced, but for what i paid , i wanted to learn.... i have more into getting my hotside machined to fit than the turbo itself.... ive also found that you can just fill the turbo with oil, and see if it seaps out the seals..... i tested mine when i got it, it leaked, now its nice and clean, with 10k on it from the summer time driving.... and still going strong....
