My daughters 07 Kia Rio only has 29,550 miles on it and has had one long block replacement, one short block, and another long block. It continues to burn oil for some reason but the dealership can't seem to figure out why. I know it's coming out the exhaust because I can see the blue smoke, and it's been checked for leaks several times but nothing is ever found.
I have one vote for PCV valve. Anyone else?
It's all been warranty work so it hasn't cost us a dime. It's pretty silly though. The first motor threw a rod and from then on, it's been burning about a quart of oil every thousand miles, regardless. Short block, long block, what ever.
We just got it back last week and it looks like its burning oil again. It's still too early to tell but I have no reason to think it's fixed.
