Mazda Maniacs is Back!

Hello, my name is Richard and I just resurrected an old Mazda forum. Mazda Maniacs used to be a popular Mazda forum around 2004 - 2005. The owner of the site gave up on it due to spambots and hackers. I was lucky enough to obtain the domain and decided to bring Mazda Maniacs back from the dead. The site is brand new and just launched today, so there is no post yet, but I'm inviting as much people as I can to help jump start the forum. I'm inviting all Mazda enthusiast to come and join in on discussion, especially if you were a former member!. Take a look at the new forum and if you like what you see, join up and post an introduction.

Man, no posts anwhere for the first day then a few hours later and 7 pages on the protege section alone. Near ever single one a question, like "how much does it cost to put a turbo on" or "whats the most powerful motor I can put in and what will it cost" "What type of fuel should I put in my 323 Protege"

Really? Really? The sheer volume and style of questions and such make me think there's something fishy going down. Dunno what tho. Just seems off kilter.

Me personally I find it a little disrespectful to go on to a Mazda forum that you've never been on just to advertising your new Mazda forum.

i think the same thing. And there are over 3000 members already!!??? I think the board would have been better off not having all those fake looking posts. I wonder if Richard can delete all the fake posts and just start a fresh board and no make it missleading.

Oh, and the board is dead right now. No guests or members on, even with over 3000 members.

Quote from the owner of the site when I told him how dumb it was with the fake posts and members:

"yes I know it's unliked. It's just an initial boost in content. Anything new will be unique. it helps gain weight on search results, resulting in more traffic, sign ups, etc. The scraped content will be buried once it gets going."

Then he pm'd me

Just wanted to let everyone know that I wiped the board with the scraped content. I normally start forums this way to fill the forum with content to gain search engine traffic.

I realize know that its not the best method for Mazda Maniacs and true user content is a must for a successful forum. So the content is wiped and we're starting over fresh.

I think we should give the site another chance. I think that the guy just made a mistake and thought it would be a good idea, but now he changed his thoughts on it and wiped the board.
