Got a hood finally. Woo. Now to deal with the lovely DMV tomorrow, which ought to be fun since the car has an out of state title. FML.

At least you don't have to go through an out of state inspection, right?

out here it's no big deal to register something with an out of state title, just have to go through emissions and they do a VIN verification.

not sure how it's gonna work out with my 240 since it's from a state that doesn't use titles for cars over 10 years old though...

pulled the exhaust manifold, disty, wires, and got some of the wiring harness undone and out of the way. planning on unbolting the intake manifold and leaving it off to the side since Nissan are a bunch of assholes and ran coolant lines through the damn thing. we'll see, I guess.

head is off. composite head gaskets ****ing suck, there's graphite **** or whatever in at least five of the coolant passages for cylinders 1 and 2, cylinder 4 had a bunch of material missing. all the head bolts came out intact, no signs of a break in the gasket by cylinder 4, no visible cracks in the head. also **** timing chains. gonna take the head to a machine shop this week to get it magnafluxed to see if it's cracked at all, and hopefully get it back together after I get back from vacation.

also used the propellant + lighter method to set the bead on one of my Equips and mounted it, I think it needs 3-5mm more spacing to look perfect. I'll play around with some washers once I get the diff back in and get this piece of **** back on the ground.

Right now I'm working on my 94 MX-3 GS, two pistons got ****ed, not sure how but I've since grabbed another engine and I'm preparing to swap it in. When I pulled off the old water pump one of the bolts broke, I tried using one of those broken bolt extractors but it's too small. Gonna have to go get an easy out today and chop it flat, drill a hole and hammer in the extractor and try to remove it.

Anyone got any tips or anything for getting it out?

Clamp the holy hell out of it with good vice grips. Try heating the bolt, then clamp, and lefty loosey... Profit.

No luck doing that, the top part that the vice grip gets on just twists up and the grip slip off. Hard to explain actually but it just isn't working.
