Lol, that reminds me of the time my 12pt 13mm socket was missing for 5 months. It was underneath the Intake cam in the SuperGT, when I melted that BP, I tore it down and found it finally.

it's just a KA, so I don't really care- if it lasts long enough for me to get the car registered and through emissions (and maybe driven a while) while I fix the head on the one in the car, that'll be good enough.sigpic

discovered all of my clutch woes were due to a bad master cylinder- I pulled it out of the car to discover there was a significant amount of brake fluid built up in the rubber boot that goes into the firewall. installed the new one, bled it, and now I have a clutch and **** is rad as hell.
also drained the oil and gear oil from the trans (which looked like Ecto Cooler, weird). pulled the header off the other day and disconnected the wiring from the majority of the motor.
gotta install the new tie rods, pull the power steering pump, disconnect the lower harness, and pull the other section of the driveshaft, and the motor should be ready to come out this weekend.sigpic

pulled the motor and trans out of the 240 and pushed that pile of **** outside.
clutch and flywheel are smoked from one drift event, thanks to a bad clutch master. awesommmmmmmme.
broke a vise trying to get the pilot bushing **** out of the end of the crank of the new motor, so that was the end of working on **** for the day.sigpic

MustangII IFS in a '47 international pickup for a customer at work. This doesn't technically apply to this thread, except I am about to weld a ton of **** for the Escort, and this is a nice project to warm-up on first...
My most recent welds are looking alright, I've always been decent, but now that I'm doing it more frequently, I'd say I'm doing okay.

Thanks, and you'll get there. It really comes down to equipment. For MIG, on anything structural, you want a minimum of .035 wire (.040 is even better), a high amperage machine, and the correct PSI setting for you shielding gas. Then it's all about adjusting the settings, and listening to the sound of the welds. It should sound very electrical, in the sense of the buzz noise that happens. You can really hear when its melding the pieces together.
Today, I built the engine mount brackets and got them in, and finished locating the LCA's. Sunday I'll go in and get the upper spring perches in place, bolt in the UCA's, and possibly get some spindles and brakes in place. I go full time at the shop on monday, as Saturday is my very last day of working in a grocery store.Current:
