Honestly if we keep it, i'm just going to VTA and have the intake pipe welded up, because this looks like a pile of dick.

that intake is lolz but the recirc looks better haha

I wonder if you could put a clutch fan on a BP.

That intake is actually probably the best place to put on in a Miata. It'd be more effective with a heatshield and a chunk cut out of the cowl divider, though.

The big downside is that it's SUPER annoying while driving. It's so damn loud. From inside, that car sounded like it made eleventy bajillion horsepower and was making TEXASpsi. BPV was earsplitting going back up through that intake as well.

          All that.... for 250whp. Woo.

I just can't with the two couplers. is it that hard to fit the pipe in there?

also, that makes it sound like my ZX2. anything past 1/2 throttle and it's just intake roar, I have no idea what the Borla actually sounds like at WOT.

Oh no... the two couplers are there because there's normally a MAF there.

Don't know if there's a 1 piece version. I just got the MAF delete pipe after we got the car.

oh, ****, yeah that makes way more sense, I forgot that it would have been a MAF car.

installed the new lightweight flywheel/SPEC clutch
decided to check the throwout bearing before bolting the transmission back on, probably a good thing because it was completely destroyed.

current list of items destroyed at the lone drift event driven so far:
                  -clutch
                  -flywheel
                  -throwout bearing
                  -head gasket
                  -head

                  ****ing Nissans.

also helped put my friend's SR back together since he has a broken hand. installed the Tomei HG, head, and ARP studs. gonna torque everything down tomorrow after I'm done working on my ****box.

new motor's in, diff/axles/driveshaft are bolted up, cat-back is hung back up (mostly to give me more floor space).

                    getting closer to burnouts.

Drove the everliving piss out of it...

It's a Maranello/Leopard. We were pushing about 80mph on the short track today, until the front left spindle decided to detach from the chassis on me at about 50 mph on my final lap... The front left corner was bouncing like a basketball while I lost control bringing it to a stop. It hurt.

I'm a part owner of this cart, split three ways between My dad, brother and I, which is nice after a day like today. The clutch is about dead, it needs a new coil, a front left spindle, and a load of adjustments and new hardware. We split cost and repairs, so it isn't so terrible to maintain. Man this thing is fun though. Power oversteer at 60MPH is thrilling, especially how you just stay in it and it pulls through and straightens out in due time. Theoretical top speed is around 87-90MPH, but we're looking to improve that with some upgrades.

I'll get some GoPro footage next time we go out.

installed starter/alternator/part of wiring harness. currently stuck trying to find a way to install the knock sensor without taking the intake manifold off.

should be done with the car this week.

Picked up a new commuter car. The Jeep is costing over $200 a week in fuel, so a little BMW 318i fit the bill. It's painfully slow, but has Bilstein dampers with Eibach springs, so it's fun to drive.
