Put the steering wheel out of my Protege into the 626. Fairly straight forward, had to cut two notches for the clock spring, swap commectors on the air bag, and completely rewire the cruise control buttons. This wheel is so much nicer than stock.

That last picture reminds me that I need to get a double-din DVD player to rock all 2002 D1SL-style in the 240.

also, I got to take it for a rip around the block. the looks you get when driving a super-low caged drift car on the street are fantastic.

Scored this leather steering wheel at the JY today for $20. Grabbed the matching leather shift knob too, as driving with a glove over my brass knob at all times sucks.

I think that's the same wheel my Miata has, just mine has red stitching. Nice wheel, wish it wasn't so modern-looking.

                details?

Tried to fit my JP motorsports BG FSTB to the 626. To my surprise it was about an inch too long.

Thanks. They were done by the PO. They are gone now. Got rid of the sealed beam kit, did a h4 conversion and put in a 55w hid kit. Its stock motorwise. 120k miles 5 speed on a single Cam KA. Cranked torsions in the front, 4 inch blocks and modified leaf springs in the rear. And silverado wheels. Lol

the track car got fiberglass 30mm overs up front and a hood that is less bent. first event is in March, probably won't be one color by then.

                            My garage-mate's.

Though.... i may be getting one of my own here soon. I just need to weigh the difficulties of putting an F2T in an FD vs. a Miata.

And then weigh the advantage of being able to fit more tire under an FD vs. how much heavier it will be.

I've got a buddy with a 2JZ Swapped FD who is getting kinda tired of the build. I'm counting the days until he puts it up for sale. I hope to convince him to either finish it (he wants like 500 at the wheels) or part-out the 2JZ stuff and the 70-something-mm turbo/ AEM standalone, then sell me the shell. I've wanted an FD since the first time I played the original Gran Turismo. (I would have been like 12-13 at the time.) I truly believe it is the most beautiful modern era (1990+) Japanese car.

Funny.... the FD you see there is getting a 2jz. (Well... technically a 1.5jz or whatever. 2jz block, 1jz head.) You can see the motor here: https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-N...203_152130.jpg
