What coils do you have that can't bottom out the car? Just looking at mine I'm sure I'd either be sitting on the tires in the wheel well or have the frame on the ground if I went max low.

Handling woes excluded, I've always been a bit counter culture when it comes to cars and the last thing I want is a stance-fag talking to me when I'm sitting in a parking lot about how sick nasty low I am(or however the kids talk now adays).

Also I drive to much like a jerk to slowboat it over bumps, cracks, leaves, and ants like you have to if slammed.

Fortune Auto 500s, they're a little softer than PBM/Stance so they make better coils for a daily but don't go quite as low. the problem is in the front, the height of the wheel arch makes it hard to get the look I want without running out of adjustment. the rears go low enough that I can put the subframe on the ground.

I'm sure it's not ideal for handling, but it's also primarily a drift car and looking cool is important, sooooooo... I get left alone by stance dorks, because my car is kinda ratty, and it's stock body with small wheels so it gets like zero attention, even at drift events (mostly because I pit with A group friends whose cars are way cooler).

my frame rails are like an inch and a half off the ground, maybe, and I don't drive it any differently than I drive the ZX2 with the exception of keeping an eye out for anything that will beach the car. I've never gotten it stuck, don't have to go over speed bumps at an angle, none of that ****. it works like a regular car.

Bought $50 worth of **** at the local Nissan dealer.

Aside from buying two 300zx maf clips I did pretty well replacing the bulk of the missing ones.

Gas release works now too, $5 well spent.

Which let me reinstall the passenger side trunk trim, now cut for coil adjustment

Got the passenger side belt rubbish finished up.

        That looks factory fresh.

Looks fine at three feet though.

My drivers side belt doesn't lock proper on deceleration.Which is caused by having a passenger side belt reel installed there. So I was sold two passenger belts and it took me almost a year to notice. I'm a smart one.

like 90% sure I'm going to buy a 94-95 Miata and throw my MSPNP and IRTBs at it for cool noises.

is this a bad idea [y/y]?

the biggest downside to this plan is that I hate standalones and I don't really have anywhere to work on a car (like, my driveway is 18"x18"x1.5" stone blocks and I'm pretty sure jackstands would crack them and piss off my landlord)

Just get some scrap squares of thick plywood or wide 2x material to put the jackstands up on & spread the weight out.

MS on an n/a miata shouldnt be that bad, there's probably eleventybillion base maps out there. Although the IRTB's will probably make it a bit of a pain to tune idle.

then I have to figure out where to put all that ****, tbh I'm not sure if I even have room in my house for a jack and stands where they're not in the way. though... there's a DIY shop in South Miami that even has a dyno, theoretically I could do all the **** there.

I also need to figure out if I'd want this to be my only car (in which case it probably wouldn't get the MS and IRTBs) or if I'd keep the ZX2 around until it dies...

Could you rent a storage unit and work on your car inside? Lol

that's like... way more expensive than just renting a bay for a few hours/the day. the shop charges $25/hr or $200/day to rent a bay with a lift and tools, which is way cheaper than me buying all new tools (since I left the majority of it in CT with the S13) and then having to find a place to put them. that might be the best way to go with it, the ZX2 needs an oil change so maybe I'll do it there, it'll give me a chance to check the place out.

Matt Needs Miata. Miata Needs IRTBs. When did you move to Miami?

Oh and I've decided on 4AGE blacktop for the AW11. You'll be happy to hear that I'm sure. I'll probably sell my NB this spring (I'll miss it) and daily the toyota this summer, then sell it too.

yeah, probably for the same reason CT doesn't have pull-a-parts anymore, insurance liability or whatever

I really want this noise in a car that I'm marginally less likely to die in.

Oh, cool. Blacktop will be better for resale/easier. I'm just gonna fix it, drive it for a while and flip, so May as well maximize my R.O.I. with something popular.

The Miata is the one I bought last February and have daily driven since. 2000 LS with the small tupperware/foglights/torsen. Garage kept, rust free, accident free, good paint, 3-owner car just hit 40,000 Miles a few weeks ago. Clean In and Out. Cusco Zero2E Coilovers with Cusco E-CON controller wired and working, Flyin Miata Exhaust, Fab9 Coil over plug conversion, 16x7 +35 Gram Lights 57c with Sumitomos, Garage Star Delrin Door bushings, Touge Run spoiler, and a hitch. Also have a hardtop that I still need to paint match and do a lexan window for, will be getting a Roll-bar and trying to pick up a set of polished 16x8 +33 Meister S1 soon. If I can't get $10K for it this spring, I'll probably drop a Kraftworks Rotrex supercharger on it this summer, and build a forged bottom end and high flow head next winter to go nuts with a C30-94 next year.
