Cleaned up the door panels and reinstalled them after getting the widows as well aligned as I can get.
That doorpanel to seat cover clearance though
Moved the battery to the trunk finally, after removing the rust from that side.
I need to do a second pass on the wire lengths and install a breaker proper. The 120A I have pops and I don't think the 220A one will pop even if the car is on fire.
Waiting for one more rockauto order then attempting to get it titled/regi'd again.Beater=/= Sleeper

Finished building a thing. I guess you could call it a rumble seat... It's been road tested to 90mph and some decent corners... Sturdy. Now it's easier to get to the track to take advantage of my season pass!

I'm glad nissan made the gauge clusters over engineered with it's one micron layer of copper on the flex board and capacitors that leak from the factory.
That one solar flare backlight though.
The tach started working after I gave the cluster a light tap, so it's not all that bad I guess.
Still it's disappointing swapping from a working back light but broken speedo display digital cluster, to a functionally working but still not quite right analog cluster.
Also my knock off hood prop kits studs sheared the other day and gave my head quite the bashing.
Diddled again.Last edited by Kitty; 02-23-2016, 06:23 PM.Beater=/= Sleeper

Yet another day of just driving the thing and laughing my ass off. For what it is this thing really hasn't given me much trouble.'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Installed some mad jdm tyte nylon spacers on the door jams.
This really quieted wind noise and door rattles and makes the doors have a nice "THUNK" when you close them.
I also did some front end weight reduction/COG lowering when the drivers side timing guide fell into the oil pan last night.
Damn thing sounds like a tank at present.Beater=/= Sleeper

Raised the front and the rear up while waiting for parts. Front control arms are parallel, rear are a bit off still.
That drift lyfe wear pattern though.
I am excited I can fit a jack or drip pan under the car now, I also broke the reverse light switch again trying to tighten it. I think I'm going to buy an OEM one.
I was also pretty alarmed that 1/4 the rear suspension arms were pretty loose. I think after I do the rears again I'll throw thread locker on them.
Replaced the hood strut ball studs so no longer holding the bonnet up with a rake.
Looks like next weekend all the timing rubbish will be in.Beater=/= Sleeper

I took this silly car to the test n tune session at the dragstrip but only got one run in before it rained. Notoriety, first drag run at SIR of the year, but numbers sucked. I just planted my foot, expecting to just, you know, go, but this was not the case... musta been slickern' snot cuz my 60' time was over 3 seconds while the traction nannies went ape****. Ah well, they gave us all a raincheck and will try again later.'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and

Went back last Saturday, got only 3 runs before getting tired of the wait. 12.1, almost as fast as Rieldeal's Escort, but could very much improve if I cared enough to, you know, figure out how to launch the car under those conditions. Regular tarmac is no trouble, but man it was wheelspin city there.'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
