replacing the ZX2, come hate on my choices

so my ZX2 was done in by a fine example of Miami driving and I need to replace it. currently considering the following:

03 Civic SI:
+hatches are cool
+will look cool with a drop and my Eurolines
+MAD VTEC BRO
+will probably run forever and be easy to work on
+has enough power to be fun/not get bored with it too quickly
-usually owned by idiots
-have transmission issues?
-I know ****-all about Hondas
-Honda nerds hate the suspension setup?
-will probably get stolen

96 Miata:
+Miata is always the answer
+I have a bunch of parts lying around for one of these
+I miss my Miata and want another
-OBDII can kiss my ass
-so smol, not a great daily
-no power unless turbo, do not want turbo
-usually owned by idiots

04 tC:
+Camry motor, so it'll prob run forever
+looks good with rims and a drop
+should be quick enough that I'll leave it alone
+not awful to drive
-I'm not a stripper
-I know literally nothing about these things
-leaky sunroof? interior kinda sucks too

03 Focus SVT:
+familiar with the engine and platform
+makes okay power
+looks okay, interior doesn't suck
+hatchbackkkkkkk
-usually owned by idiots
-premium gas to make 170 squirrels and get ****ty mileage is a bonerkill
-4x108 is ****ing stupid


I also welcome alternative suggestions but you are probably wrong

Get a 90-91 miata and then swap in a VVT motor. Plenty of NA power to do stupid stuff. Also 90-91 should be emission exempt most places.

that is more of a pain in the ass than it's worth, this is going to be my new daily so I don't want to deal with motor swap bull****. also, everything is emissions-exempt in Florida.

You are in Florida. I hear it rains there. Sunroofs that wanna leak are baaaad.
OK so let's get weird. If I'm gonna be wrong, I wanna get really wrong.
4liter Lexus barge. Dropped and stiffened. All the drawbacks of toothrattling suspenders and none of the lexus butter. Or, screw it, drive as is.
KL Mazdog. Open headers. Earplugs. Win.

oh no, don't get me wrong, I love turbos- my 240SX is turbo'd, so was the wagon I sold to Blazin674. I'm not real interested in having a non-factory boosted car, though (so if I could find a good deal on an MSM I would be all over it)

I'm not real concerned about leaky sunroofs, 99% of the time it's a pretty easy fix + regular maintenance.

an LS or GS would be rad AF especially since JZX coils bolt on, but finding a JZS in a stick is next to impossible and nothing with the UZ came with one. not a bad idea, though.

V6s nearly always sound terrible, and since I really only want something that looks and sounds cool (rather than being fast or handle super well), that's gonna be a deal-breaker, sorry

haul stuff
reasonable power
reasonable gas mileage
Ebay headers sound wonderful with an open exhaust.

or KL swap later for more fun

My 98 ZX2 had a header a chip and an intake and it walked all over those 03 SI's the look of the isn't bad but the engines just not punchy at all. The interiors were not great either.

never said it wasn't (hence "I'm not a stripper"), just that it's not any more of a chick car than a Miata. my ZX2 is a chick car too, I give zero ****s.

A w75 swap is, I understand, simple in that car. but this violates the "I don't wanna screw with it" principle...

KA trans swaps over too, the issue is more the fabrication to add a clutch pedal (in the case of the LS) and the fact that an auto-to-manual swap is not something I am particularly interested in doing.

it's been on the list of things I'm considering but there aren't any around with reasonable mileage. also, I'm trying to buy newer, not older (with a few exceptions)

Speaking of celica's, 99-06 celica GTS is a good choice.180hp engine and they are about on par with a KL swapped MX3 if you can find one in good shape and not riced out.

Buy my tiburon. 2.7l V6 with cat back so it sounds decent. 5 speed with like 80k miles. Leather. Sunroof. Also has air conditioning. Is technically a hatchback. Some people say it's a chick car. Only issues is its covered in hail damage, small dings on every panel. I think it still had the factory clutch so that may need to be changed if your gonna drive aggressively. Looks great from over 10 feet. Oh and I know a guy that transports cars to FL so could probably get a deal on that. Lol

I hated that 6 speed with a passion. The gears are far too close together.
