I am stationed at Brunswick ME (NASB). I have been here for 5 1/2 years. From here I have been on many dets. I am ready to try somewhere new as soon as my orders are up in 2005. I think we are going to try Sicily, or Rota. Is your wife in the AF also, glyph? Where are you stationed again?

my wife and I are both active duty AF at Charleston AFB, SC. Sigonella would be a great station. We were operating from there early on in OEF. Spent many nights at the Sig Inn. Also got a nice stay at the Park Hotel Campomolino (sp?) about 1.5hrs away. Long days flying to afghanistan, then kyrgyzstan before getting home, back then...

hey glyph, I noticed in some of your pictures you're wearing glasses. does that mean you don't have to have 20/20 vision to be a pilot in the military?

nope, you don't. The AF will provide glasses and even contacts as long as your eyes can be corrected to 20/20. Mine actually make me 20/15. My eyes are 20/25 on the right, and 20/30 on the left. Not too bad, but stupid astygmatisms (sp?)

The need for 20/20 natural pilots goes with supply and demand. Do they need a LOT of pilots NOW? then reduce the requirements... do they have too many? up the requirement to 20/20 again...
