    oh the dilemma

    what do i do?

suck it up and keep the really lame 89 ranger 2wd

spend some MORE time and money to get the mediocre 93 egt running

find a cleaner/nicer BG of some sort, maybe another AWD pro?

get a car loan for ~3000-3500 and pick out a nice reliable ~8 year old awd subaru legacy or impreza wagon (non turbo)

sell the ranger, part out the EGT, find 2000-2004 subie wagon. ive almost got 80,000 on mine and have never had any issues with it. non turbo, change the oil regularly and dont rev to redline all the time and it will be a great reliable DD and winter car

I was looking for a nicer 99ish legacy gt sedan for awhile before i got rear ended and needed a car immediately... I'd still like one.

the dohc 2.5 through 99 had a lot of major headgasket issues. the SOHC 00-02 had minor ones (coolant seeping to the outside), and 02+ SOHC were fixed with a new headgasket.

Suby AWD loves to eat snow and ice.
          I have a 97 outback wagon beater.
I would really like one in a little better shape.

a nice big v8 in the ranger would make it more loveable :-) I do love subies too though.

i was originally planning to swap in an SVO/Turbocoupe 2.3t. my friend has a good running motor sitting around, and i collected the ecu, injectors, etc online. then i just decided that i cant stand the truck... uncomfortable with no interior room being my main complaint. power and handling are things i can fix, but i cant make the cab bigger!

i guess i should mention that this is a new daily driver that i'm looking for. i want something reliable to drive to work, take on long trips, etc.
