My junkyard tools of the trade

By the way I was able to use for the first time my power tools at the junkyard...

The 1200 watts generator is priceless, and the Makita makes work so easy...

The Makita was 160.00 on Amazon and the 1200 portable generator like around 100 on EBAY.

I was smoking today removing the parts, people look at me like I was crazy. While they do on a half hour I could finish it in 10 minutes, best of all my hands and back are not killing me.

The only little gripe the gas tank needs a better gasket as it tends to leak when tilted on the cart.

My local j/y back in South Carolina forbids power tools

Being that Germany has regulations on everything... I highly doubt that you could bring a gas powered generator within 50' of a junkyard.

but I'm sure his gas last longer than the battery on that snap on.

            Specs:

            Model: 9071-20

300 ft./lbs. of torque - more torque saves time
Powerful 7.0 amp motor, 1800 RPM and 2600 IPM (no load)
AC/DC rocker switch for quick selection of forward and reverse
Light weight (6 pounds) with balanced feel and cushioned grip

For 160.00 bucks I think its good enough for me. There is a Snap-On that is 500 ft.lbs. of torque but costs 530.00 and the battery lasts around 2 hrs or so depending on the use. I liked the versatility of using many tools even a light etc when working on the field with the generator.

I finally got my engine, its in super mint condition.

                  Oil Pump Failure

I bought the generator from EBAY, got to find the seller's name as I bought it a while back.

                  If you do not want to go to the link, here is a recap;

I got a new (used) block for 50 bucks plus 15 on core charge.

I blew the oil pump because I never put back the stock harmonic balancer, I alwayas had, the aluminum pulley, for many years and never gave me any problems. It seems the extra power is not good. I did not blew it up in terms of a rod, detonation or lean conditions etc, the AFR were always stable and consistent.

Here are a few more of the new/used motor...

I have my bluepoint 14.4v 3/8ths drive cordless impact I use for EVERYTHING... I just picked up mac's 10.2v bit driver that is nice because it has an adjustable clutch making interior work a breeze.

I would really like to get a 1/2" cordless impact, but for now the need is not great enough to justify the cost, considering my pneumatic is more than i EVER need. I dont go to the junkyard enough to consider it a need.

that is one hell of a junkyard setup!
