    auto or 5spd?

so i've been lulling this over in my head for a while.

when i bought my car like 15 months ago.. i didn't really care about cars or really know anything about them.. and i didn't wanna be bothered with relearning how to drive stick.. so i bought an AT protege. luckily, i bought a good car, but i've gotten to drive MT a few more times since i bought my car, and i do love it..

only prob is that i got a really good deal on my car at the time, and cuz i'm under 25, insurance in Ontario violently rapes me, financially, so if i was to change, it would just go up even more... i keep looking around for 5spd pros that would cost me the same as what i'm paying now in monthly payments. and it seems nearly impossible to match what i'm paying... (paid CDN$13k for my car)

So is my predicament... should i buy a new/used car and be strapped for cash for the next few years in order to have 5spd? or should i keep my car and just soup up the audio and visual of it?? i know i can't get as much power out of my AT.. but i'd like to change Header 'n get CAI.. pretty much everything shy of a turbo...

i know negatize and proto2k have done wonders with AT... and i'd probably end up going in the same direction, but different, of course...

i'll probably end up buying another car in 3-4 years (when i'm done paying this off along with my line of credit)...
i, personally, am leaning towards keeping my current car until i've paid off some of my crazy debts

if it would strap you, stik with what youv'e got. kill some debt off and then get a new car. I gopt the MSP to lower my monthy bills. and it did by almost $200.

hard for me to really speak on it, because I don't have any car payments.
But I would do what GotBoost recomended.

Unless you can find a Protege of a same or close year as yours for less money, and you can find a method to purchase the car outright or work out the financing to give you a lower monthly payment.

keep what you got, in 3-4 years you should be able to by a 5spd of whatever you want to get. You'll be better credit wise too.

I only WISH i had the slightest idea where to begin! i'm still relatively new to car modding 'n whatnot.

i keep looking for 5spd's in my price range. but there aren't any. I mad a good downpayment on mine when I bought it. So i think i'm gonna have to just ride it out, maybe buy out a few grand when my union signs our new contract (2 years of backpay is sweet)
i live a lifestyle that's too lush for my paycheque.. and my gf is a bum and makes **** pay and goes to school... so for now.. i'll just have to settle with auto..
