'91 Isuzu impulse turbo AWD...I didn't know they made that variant. Claimed weight sub-2k lb, suspension by Lotus, I wonder if their gearbox is better than ours. Good thing for me it's in Ohio, lest I spend money I don't have on a car I don't really need...

Guy had one at an autocross a couple years ago. I enjoyed it because of its rarity, but It didn't impress me performance-wise.
I doubt the gearbox is stronger, with only a 2000lb car, they wouldn't have needed to make it so.
There's a Pontiac (Bonneville or Grand Prix, I can't remember now) SE AWD sitting in town, too. I think that would make a fun ice-racing car. Especially with a Northstar swap.

AKA the more popular in the US but still rare, Geo Storm. These wieghed 2732 lbs when AWD/turbo so the ad is wrong about that but true about only being around 800 Impulse's imported to the US and only in awd/turbo during 1991. I love these just for the same reason i love my GTX, rare AWD turbo in a small hatchback. And Yes, the transmissions are weak just like a mazda tooLast edited by trailrider098; 09-28-2010, 11:31 AM."See that car, in the 80's that car was deadly."
