Even more rare than 4wd protege

'91 Isuzu impulse turbo AWD...I didn't know they made that variant. Claimed weight sub-2k lb, suspension by Lotus, I wonder if their gearbox is better than ours. Good thing for me it's in Ohio, lest I spend money I don't have on a car I don't really need...
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Guy had one at an autocross a couple years ago. I enjoyed it because of its rarity, but It didn't impress me performance-wise.

I doubt the gearbox is stronger, with only a 2000lb car, they wouldn't have needed to make it so.

There's a Pontiac (Bonneville or Grand Prix, I can't remember now) SE AWD sitting in town, too. I think that would make a fun ice-racing car. Especially with a Northstar swap.

AKA the more popular in the US but still rare, Geo Storm. These wieghed 2732 lbs when AWD/turbo so the ad is wrong about that but true about only being around 800 Impulse's imported to the US and only in awd/turbo during 1991. I love these just for the same reason i love my GTX, rare AWD turbo in a small hatchback. And Yes, the transmissions are weak just like a mazda too

That's what we thought, but it's NOT an STE. It's an SE something, with the 'all wheel drive' part of the emblem attached to the SE on the trunk.

I should drive over and take a closer look at it.
