    lol shredder

So my friends just got a new pad, 4 guys splitting the rent. For the Halloween party they are throwing, they are going to be the 4 ninja turtles. So, I wanted to be the bad guy, Shredder.

Low and behold, there are no Shredder suits for sale anywhere! With the more research I did, I found nothing. I have to make my own suit.

Definitions of Pepakura on the Web:

    * Paper models, also called card models or papercraft, are models constructed mainly from sheets of heavy paper, paperboard, or card stock as a hobby.
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepakura
So, I searched and searched, and stumbled upon Pepakura. Mostly used by Halo fanatics to re-create armor pieces. Deep in the interwebs I found a file and within it was my future design.

The art of Pepakura seemed like a daunting task, you must print out cut outs. On these cut outs you have to fold dashed lines, and fold other dashed lines. Then you have to connect them all together.

My next step is to use fiberglass resin on the outside of the suit, this will stiffen the paper. After a few coats I will then use fiberglass mat on the inside to strengthen the design even further. Once all this is done, I must bondo/smoothen the outer layers before painting.

Looks good, I would recomend thinning the resin with mineral spirits or applying it veeeery light the first coat so it doesn't make the paper sag.

I am not too worried about this because it is made with 110lb paper. Normal paper weight is 20lbs. This is almost cardboard, the strongest paper I could use with the printer I have.

                            Thanks.
