    Making a custom trunk

I want to make a custom trunk where the base is all wood with carpet on it but it needs to hinge open so the tire can come out from beneath but also the subs need to sit against the backseat and not be bothered im attaching a rough diagram. If you know an easy way to do this or way to help me figure out how to make it possible an look as flush as possible would be a great help. I dont know what kind of hinging system to use because i kind of want it hidden.

if you go piano hinge get a extra heavy duty one . i did this in my 323 and it was great for about 5 months till the plywood started to sag thus bending the piano hinge.

                honestly do it right.

                use 1/2 plywood
brace with angle iron/alum on the under side
and add a handle otherwise it will suck opening it.

                    here

                    angle iron
                    plywood
                    carpet
                    piano hinge

this way you can remove it if you need without ripping up carpet.
make sure the carpet goes under the hinge.
also you might wanna look at different hinges .
if you have a router then get 3 standard door hinges and router out a groove for the hinge then you could put carpet on top. or over lap the carpet at the hinge and velcro it down so as to have access to the hinge and a seemless look. ill see if i have any pics of mine.
