When I saw this on tv, I thought "uh oh, I think the race is over...."


But they somehow got the track repaired and actually finished the race! What a crazy race! Rained out sunday, postponed again today until 7:00, then a crash on lap 2, then Montoya decided to rear end a jet dryer and it blew up and it damaged the track. Then they decided to fix it, and right when they were about finished patching the hole, it started to drizzle, and then it stopped. Then they started the race again and a few more wrecks later, Matt Kenseth wins.... And on top of that, it's the first ever daytona 500 to happen during two days. Monday night and tuesday morning.... Crazy, just crazy.

I saw that after work, my girlfriend's dad DVR'd it and rewound it to show me. That was nuts. The 2012 Daytona 500 has had more problems than ever, haha. It's never been postponed til another day in 53 years until now, wow.

For something different:
I've seen a young kid driving around in a black '98 Protege for a while. I was driving behind him today while dropping my girlfriend off at school, his right brake light was out. So, being the helpful CP member that I am, I decided to leave a note under his wiper.

Maybe he'll visit and join our glorious community. At least I'm hoping so.

Anyway, I just messaged a guy I saw comment on one of Mazda's videos on Facebook. Said he had a V6 powered 323 so I told him to stop by here. We'll see.

Well, sounds like there's a good chance I'll be running at the milwaukee mile this July. But if it happpens, my car is going to need to be fixed up and rebuilt a bit.

Plans are:
New paint job. (Flat black body with gloss red numbers and wheels.)
New front bumper cover. (hoping to make a front splitter as well.)
Pull as many dents out as possible.
Lower the seat down to the floor to help lower the center of gravity,
Fix the shifter support rod.
Build a cold air box.
Lexan windows in the back side windows to help with aerodynamics.
side skirts
Thinking about maybe making a flat belly pan to help with aero, but I doubt that will happen.
Figuring out what tires to run.....
