              a curb.
i took a turn at about 20mph, hit some sand while my tires were still cold and just slid right into a curb.
luckily that was the only damage, so i don't really care, my GF and I are alright, and no other cars were involved.

I had a friend who did that in his Toyota Celica... except HE hit the curb at 50 mph... luckily his dad had a machinist friend so it only cost him about 80 for a new support arm... i think he still needs a new steelie though, his was bent to hell!

                    well **** me.

$1100 to fix all the damage, not including a new rim

me thinks it's time to give up on modding.

ha that sucks about your friend... I did the same thing but im sure it would've been easier to cut the front off of another protege and weld it to mine... in the shop for 7 weeks geting 3 bends out of the frame and all that other ****.

this is obviously something costly by all means, and i'm glad to hear that neither of you were physically hurt. what are the estimates for the parts? steering rack, lower control arm, axle, tie end rods? needless to say, i wish you the best my friend.

yeah.. it's 675 in parts, and 375 in labour.
plus taxes 'n junk.. comes to a little over 1200 in the end... they're suggesting i get a new wheel, as well.. but i REALLY don't want to spend any more money on my car.

i'm done for the summer... i just realized that in a blink of an eye my car can be turned into a heap of rubble.

I think i'm going to concentrate all my finances to paying off debts (line of credit, credit cards and car loan)... that way if i ever hurt my baby again, i'll be able to take the hit and not cry like a little girl, again.

Ha, now I'll get my computer before you!

Seriously though, that sucks. Is the wheel actually bent or is it just torn up a bit?

from what i noticed on saturday. it's just BAAAD curb rash. nothing actually bent.

my dealership is just paranoid and over-cautious.
