Aaahhh bugger....that's a shame...hopefully you will get your motivation back.

I'm back on a diet as well....eating out two weeks isn't good for your body
One week in Croatia (very nice food) and one week Turkye (also very nice food)

If you don't have time to hit the gym, just increase your cardio; do some power walking for about 30-40 minutes 4 times a week. And bring along a walkman or a MP3 player with your favorite music. But also do a lot of stretches, but if you really want some motivation jump into a cardio class with lots ladies and no guys and just be in the back of the room. hahhahahehehe. Come to think of it, I made a lot female friends that way.

But I can guarantee, buy increasing your cardio and having a supporting diet you'll be burning off the fat storage right away. If your ready to get back into the gym start with light weight, so you can build strength and work on definition; unlike heavy weights sure your going to build strength but also mass; Unless you want to be big as incredible hulk.

            Haha.

Speaking of gaining weight, I'm getting back into it. This is week #2 back at the gym for me. I've been eating like crazy and drinking protein shakes up the ying yang, and pumping iron, of course.

Last Wednesday, 168 lbs. Tonight, 171 babay!

175 was always a goal I had. Since I'll be there in no time, I'm going for 180.

            Donate some weight Chris!

I'm consistently weighing in at 170 now.

Putting on 10 lbs. would be good.

No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

Dudes.... I just noticed this section of the forum. Haven't bothered reading through all of the posting (on this thread or others in this section) but if you have any questions.... let me know. I have a science degree in Human Development and Performance. I'm a former fitness specialist that worked full-time at the Bellevue Athletic Club (biggest, most outragiously expensive private fitness club in the state of Washington). I used to do private consultation, teach aerobics, fitness testing, body-fat testing, strength-coaching for the triathalon team, adviced a few athletes training for the Olympics, and so on. After a couple of career changes, I have been teaching about human science and exercise for the past 22 years in public schools in one way shape or form along with coaching after school sports. I am trying to finish writing my book on fitness (hope to finish someday.... LOL).

Anyway..... don't be shy, but don't expect a short answer or a magic bullet either. After all, I'm a human science guy, not a get-rich-quick actor pushing some Bozo product.....

Hey, no prob. With any luck, you'll be able to read my book someday if I ever finish it. Then, you could say to your friends, "Yeah, I know that guy!..." LOL

Keep in mind, I won't always be "gentle" in terms of evaluating what you do or don't do (I usually am though). It's just that I try to analyze everything such that everybody learns and everybody's perspective starts changing. After all, achieving good fitness is a life-long endeavor that includes permanent changes to behaviors. That's one of the most common challenges for many people. It's not what most people want to hear. Most people want something easy and quick. It doesn't work that way. However, that too is a matter of perspective. I can set you up such that you start seeing or feeling positive changes in one week, but it may take quite a while to get where you want to really be depending on your "starting point" or current fitness condition. Plus, you have to stick with some sort of regimen your ENTIRE life. That's also something people don't want to hear, but it's the truth.

Let's start with this.... why did you wait until "it's warming up..." before you started lifting again?

Dude, sorry..... Didn't even think of it that way. Just trying to offer help. Guess I should start a dif thread?

Good to hear that you're making progress. I'd like to hear a summary of what you are doing.

                                Larry

P.S. BTW, I read earlier that you said you were dieting. I recommend NOT doing that, but focusing more on longer term eating changes. "Dieting" is a concept for a quick way to become more healthy or fit. If dieting meant eating more properly, then yes, do that, but don't call it a diet. After all, that's probably closer to how people SHOULD be eating. If it's one of the fad/trendy diets (of which there are too many to count) then, NO, don't do that. What needs to be realized here is that if a diet is in keeping with eating healthier, then we should all realize that eating smart... eating properly... WORKS!!!
