I smoked in my 2nd gen alot but after it sat for a year not being used it smells like the factory again : P

strange, my escort wagon sat for almost a year after being smoked in... and it smelled like complete ass - worse than when i parked it lol. it went from the smell of cigarette smoke... to stale stank-ass cigarette smoke

Theres nothing worse than a stinky interior. I like my car to be spotless and if it stinks inside it makes me freak out! I have found that other than steam cleaner you can spray a carpet cleaner on the fabric than suck it dry with a shop vac works pretty good.

Try having your car full of sticky stuff from your car being on fire....now that is a task, lol. Second hand smoke comes out pretty easy. I know this might sound pretty retarded, but try shaving cream on the inside and outside, then just clean it with a damp cloth. It stops your windows from getting fogged up and it cleans it pretty good...at least it did for me. Never hurts to try.

this may sound crazy and absurd... but it is a trick used when working in the foulest of all odors. death.

take a tub (the size people use to soak feet) fold a hand towel and lay it in the bottom of the tub. take a bottle of mouthwash and poor the contents into the tub. set the tub in the car for 24 hours and your ride will smell minty fresh.

i used to work for a guy flipping houses and learned to do this to the excessively rank ones. it was also mentioned in the latest issue of Maxim in an article entitled "Remains of the Slay".

i can't guarantee you will ever get rid of the minty fresh smell, but you will definitely not notice the smoke anymore. this would work great if you were selling the car.
