This is a clip of my very first Solo1 event!!!

and yes, for your information.... my avatar, my sig pic, and this video clip was all from the same day

leave me alone, im proud of it
    hahaha

i was among the top 10 novices... i was ranked number 8

it was hella fun, i was very happy that my first event went so well!
no crashes, didnt run off course, didnt break the car, and all the other competitors were really helpful

soon as the car gets all its repairs done so it could race again, im definately going back

would i get in trouble for double posting?? (moderators might want to reply to this before i post this in the photo/video gallery)

oh, and incase people were wondering... by the time i ended that straight, i was at 6300 rpm in third gear

a few times i tried short shifting to fourth to see if it was faster... it didnt feel like it tho...
and i cant tell by lap times because my times werent the most consistent to start off with

more track time and experience will help out for sure

ours would NEVER go that fast, we usually have small parking lots

welcome to the world of 2nd gen racing

you should try rallycross soemtime, its more fun than autox IMO

this is a form of autocrossing, but its not the one in the parking lot

            in canada thats called solo2
solo1 is going on a road course, and racing against the clock

i've done solo2, the fastest i get is like... half way thru 2nd gear... not even

^^^ thats the point. steady/graceful is more important than speed

yea, when you can drive smoothly on a solo2 course... over time you'll be able to pick up speed

im still in the learning stages for both forms of racing though, near the end i was catching on more... but I was making the comon rookie mistakes... entering too fast... only focusing on what im doing on the moment, then not having enough time to set up my line for the next turn

i was watching some of mike moss' videos from inside the car, he has a bunch on his site

that camera on the inside is a good idea, afterwards you could watch how you did... and see where your mistakes were and strenghts/weaknesses and whatnot

well instead of SCCA we have CASC-OR

and your parkinglot autocrossing is our solo2
your road course time trials is our solo1

i believe that they are both considered "autocrossing"
hopefully some canadians check out this thread and could correct me if im wrong

i dont know anything bout rally tho...

Cool clip. One day I'll get on the track. Car sounds nice though.

Didn't you have low compression in cyl 4? Might be the wrong person.

                          thanks guys!

yea, i have low compression in cylinder four... cant tell by the sound tho eh!
                          hahaha

it drives like normal at high rpm, but at idle it shakes and wants to stall out
on cold mornings its horrible trying to drive

the car bucks back and fourth and stalls and ****
when it warms up, it still is kinda bad... but its manageable

                          its definately getting worse tho
