    Updates on my laser.

Just a couple more updates on the 'ol Laser. You would have seen the last pics where I built myself a Forged Engine running the GT2876R. Well its all complete and running with over 300HP at the wheels (Australian spec). Running 22psi at the moment.

Got 3 runs at the drags but was a **** night out with a best 60ft of only 2.3. Also ran on low boost by mistake.

    Ran 12.8 @ 114mph on low boost (15psi)
    Ran 120mph on High Boost.

Will be back out soon for revised times.

Attached are all the engine bay shots. Fitted some Coil overs and Black Sparco harnesses as well for the track. Few little things to finish off.

The Black GT Forrester is my next daily driver project......Starting with some 20" rims, exhaust, lowering/slamming, Front Mount, Intake and bigger Turbo (that will do for now).

It made 280HP on low boost on the dyno with the car wheelspinning (it was a RWD Dyno) so we could not get a proper reading. Judging by the graphs and my mates car its putting out about 330HP (240kW) at the front wheels on 22psi.

You could say 400HP on a USA dyno.

Its good for a 12.2 @ 120mph + down the 1/4 on street semis and hopefully an 11 sec on slicks.

After which i can add methonal Injection (30psi boost) and/or Nos.

I've set it up also to take on the track with Harness, Coil Overs and suspesion work. I'll be fitting some semi slicks when these tyres run out. I think they will last longer anyhow because they won't wheelspin as much.

At the moment it wheel spins 3rd gear at half track on the semis.

I built the engine myself for dirt cheap. It basically has a Race Ported and Flowed Head with Weisco 40 Thou over pistons and GTR COnrods (All new bearings and seals etc.). No cams yet. Also has a GTR Plenum for now.

Made the Manifold and Raditor from Civic items. I'll probbaly be chanigng the manifold for thicker runners down the track (modify a EVO Manifold).

                sweet laser. TX3?
does it have the 3" hole under the airfilter like a BFMR? so you can hide the filter in the bumper?

                What ECU do you run?

                What brand dyno?
Dynojet typically reads about 20% higher than Dyno Dynamics and Mustang. DD is really nice with the rpm snapshots.

It was on Ozzie Dyno Dynamics Dyno. So on your rule of 20% it would be 396 HP

There are holes both sides. I had the intercooler come up both sides with my old setup. The Cooler pipe goes through the hole under the filter.

Its a Ebay budget alloy radaitor for a CRX/Civic Turbo but it actually does not work too bad. I just modified it a bit.

Its running a Microtech LT8s ECU with Dash Unit. And running an AVCR boost controller. All Autometer Ultra-lite gauges.

I don't know about this aussie vs us dyno thing because I dynoed on a dynodynamics dyno that was properly calibrated and made a peak of 269whp at 15-16psi that was a little lean and then we richened it up and ended up with 243whp. This was all on a VJ23 and its very similar to what the british guys and you guys are getting out of a similar setup.

So if numbers are off, it's for specific cases and has nothing to do with north american dynos as a whole (although I did my test in canada and not the us)

Yeah its hard to compare dyno to dyno. best is to just take it to the drag strip. Hopefully pull some good times when i get the 60ft sorted.

269whp is a good effort for a vj23 on 15psi. Its just some of the VF10 and VJ20 figures that i have read on the site.
