Any less than 400 HP is not acceptable..

Well.. Ill try anyway.. Whatever 20 psi gives me Ill be happy with. I refuse to mix my gas. However far I can get on 91 octane thats where I will keep it.

Anyways, I have my block assembled. My rods and pistons are in their new home.

    I love this picture.

    And this one.

I basically assembled most of the motor last night. I had the bearings clearanced and the rings gapped by a professional engine builder. I didnt want to risk anything with this engine. Id do that with a winter beater but not with this much at stake. I want it done right the first time.

If you so desire you can check out my update to cardomain that I havent made in a dogs age. I guess this is what happens when youre bored at work.

nice setup, similar to what I'm doing so Im curious what numbers you'll pull out. Not sure if you'll hit 400whp on 20psi .... but 350 ....

Only 20? Why not 30? 400hp will be a conservative estimation then

        Nice shiny block :D

Yeah 91 octane is all thats available here. Its very annoying, I wish they would get some better stuff in but apparently there is only one company that brings all the gas into newfoundland and thats where all the stations get it from. Basically Ill get to the limit of what 91 can provide power wise and then back it off a little for security.

Meanwhile the rundown of what I am using, I have wiseco pistons, pauter rods, ACL bearings, ARP headstuds 880cc injectors and a turbonetics t3/t4 ball bearing turbo then on top of that I have a haltech e6x to run it all. The manifold is actually one of those ssautochrome miata ones flipped and then the pipe for the external wastegate was added on later. Should be a good setup.. Im just really happy to have a fresh engine in the car. That bpt has been turbo for 12 years now so it was time for a rebuild and boy did it need it.

                  Thanks for the comments guys.

GOOD LUCK on the 400whp goal Franko u'll get close thank god im not the only crazy mazda fantic out there wanting more power unlike them other guys that are way to consertive. u need to get rid of that damn stock intake manifold and use a better one. but all in all i hope u get what ur asking for. its all about the boost.

Well planned out ... was the BPT running poorly before the rebuild?

Those 880ccs are huge ... they will do over 400hp - hehe you might have a fun time tuning a non-rich idle with them. I think even 550s would have handled 20psi.

Can't wait to see this thing come together.

                            Good luck with it.

Is 91 all u guys get? or 94 Octance.

The lowest in Australia is normal 95 Octance, Premium is 98 Octance and Shell has a 100 Octane fuel. I was thinking out 98 could be higher.

I use 550cc injectors and run over 20 psi. Fuel is based on the power you make not the boost anyhow (although they are correlated).

Well the bpt wasent running too bad but I could just tell it needed love. The water pump was completely obliterated for some reason but I didnt know that until I took it out. The engine had allright compression but it had a few oil leaks and sticky hla's. I just couldent take it anymore. So I decided that if Im going to rebuild it anyway that I might has well go for the good stuff.

Meanwhile, you think that 880's are too big? When I do the calculation on the rceng.com website it says I need 802cc injectors to make 400 crank hp. Heh, I think that those figures are a guess at best. Well I am breaking the car in on the gtx injectors and last years tune so that I can just get in the car, start it and drive it. Then once its broken in Ill change over to the bigger injectors and retune it. I still have time to get different ones I suppose because the gtx injectors were really limiting me last year and I dont want that to happen again. So, perhaps 660's? or 720's? They are kind of the last thing I need to put in the car so I have time to change it.

                              Couple of more pics.
