should give me an extra inch of forward clearance which could potentially interfere with the radiator. (im not trying to take chances)
off the bat id recommend this to those people externally gating OE manifolds as it would yield seriously more clearance to the radiator on GTX/GTR exhaust mani's
but i'll know more once i have it in hand & have tested it- likely to post a review for the product, as i had a seriously difficult time finding anything via Google search
Oil return fitting (turbo-side) came as well. i'll be ordering a small chunk of AL piping to weld onto the oil pan & running a 5/8" return drain. should be a very decent system all said & done.
Can't wait till November 21st!!!- alot more progress to be made in the last weeks before December.
Ordered a foot of AL piping to weld in for an oil return
Also picked up some Borbet BS wheels 15x7" 35 offset. reasonably light too- 15.6 lbs each. much better then the previous 19lb rims i had on the last 323 $100 price tag for the 4 rims. not complaining much
yeah sweet ..... ill have to make u up some stuff while you are over here...
x mass is a good time to be over ... big feasts everywere
i went and picked up my trd diff and my coilovers from jesse and importer so ... more is being done on mine
maybe close to running when u come over .... you can use my wagon to get around as i wont need it during the days hahahaha
I just got done reading this whole thread and am impressed.. was curious tho, what is the m5-H trans out of? I'm familiar with m5-f and m5-g of course.. deductively it would make sense that it would be out of a fwd kia sportage 5spd or a BH or BK chassis protege?
I really didn't see much wrong with the kia fe3 you have.. besides being a little bit rough in the fe3n cylinder head with the casting.. are you saying that the block could be cast with more impurities (causing more of a risk for iron structural failure with increase cylinder wall loading) w/ kia than with the mazda varient? also, which car do you find the fe3 mazda make from? a-spec or j-spec car?
so why did you cut into the car? clearance for the trans? trans case looks awesome!!!
Yeah it looked as though you had a lot of room anyway with that BG subframe in the back trans mount next to the firewall.. why'd you risk so much subframe integrity.. I don't mean to be a gawk, but that weld being at a 90 degree angle doesn't offer much 'fold in' resistance than the rounded off ness... now that tie bar looks like money and if you didn't have that I would think you were mad lol
I am normally on feoa, don't mean to be a bisch/flaunt whatever.. but I like the work done here
Glad you decided to not work up the motor (yet)
that one guy with the 1st gen probe had a built fe3 that deto'ed w/ 8psi? something wasn't done right..
this motor should take much more ... any idea what you can do for oil squirters to the bottom of the piston wrist pin area for when you crank up the boost/temps
nice work on the header turbo manifold man.. so you say that was chopped from a f2t header manifold to keep about the same cyl spacing?
also, the 15mm difference in engine length (compared to the b series motors), is that countered with the passenger side (for LHD cars) engine mount boltup? looks like less space along the frame rail and about the same locale of the engine/trans bellhousing boltup (compared to the b8 you had in there)
what is the difference between the f2 and fe3 blocks
keep up the good work and finish already! thanks for answering any of these questions.. or someone else... if you want just drop me a PM and I'm sorry if this post seems as a rambling
the H series trans was used in the 90-92 probe LX and 88-92 probe gt and 88-92 mx6/626gt's. those are the only car's that used them. the one he is using is from the 88-92 gt's. its the only thing that bolts right up to the fe3 other then the weaker G series that was on the 2.2n/a's
there was never a mazda FE3 in the states.
there is no such thing as a F2t header. only thing they have is the stock cast piece. they have less aftermarket then escorts. lol
