            Hey Ryan, do you subscribe to grassroots motorsports magazine? How do you like it? And how much does it cost to susbscribe? I am looking for another magazine to subscribe to, as one of my usual magazines (hemmings muscle machines) went WAY up in price, and I cancled my subscription.

            Back on topic:

            If you want some good sound deadener, dynamat products are the best you can get. My dad uses it on all the cars he restores for people and it works WAY better than anything else out there.

              I'd highly recommend GRM. $100 for 10 years is pretty unbeatable, too.

                yeah, GRM is pretty nice. I got that same 10 years for 100 bucks, i think my subscription ends in 2017 or something.

                Ryan, are you going to paint the welds on the inside of the car too? I'd recommend it, because rust WILL form, if there is bare metal...

                    Good info for those people swapping in Kia FE3's
                    99 miata thermostat housings bolt up & face the correct direction..........
                    You'll need to machine a lip into the head for a Thermostat to sit

                      Thank you goes out to bogaut for mailing me a GTX TB coupler!!!!

                      Upper charge pipe is mocked up & technically fits with better angles than it did with the BP.

                      Also went into my garage & dug out the old 2.5" exhaust from the RED 323 (323 #1) lets see if anyone remembers it..........

                      it'll get me by with a complete exhaust system for now- Mandrel bend 3" will be fitted down the line.
                      meanwhile a free flow master muffler/resonator inline should help tone the car down a bit.

                        91 protege gt. dropzone mx3 springs, mx3 crossmember, ractive front and rear strut braces, rear lower mx3 brace, 4 wheel disc brakes, corksport ss brake and clutch lines,kvr front pads, ractive cai,ram air hood scoop, modified front bumper, shaved ant and rear trunk lock, fubu ant, short shifter, corksport bronzeoil shifter bushings,92 glass sunroof and tail lights, mx3 center console, autometer gauges (volt and oil pressure) cluster needles painted to match, sound system, 17 inch eagle alloy 193 with 205 40 17 rubber. klze is ALIVE BABY!! . http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2394656http://www.toprotege.com/forums/show...hlight=project[url]

                          either the stock water neck from the kia fe3 fits also if you drill out the two mounting holes also. i have that fitted up on my spare kia head in my garage. the plug thats normally on that outlet also works to plug that one at the front of the motor when you make it FWD.

                            Changed the exhaust valve keepers over to intake keepers(spares from other heads)
                            not bad if you have the tool & some air.

                            Pulled out the FEAP intake cam & put in a KIA FE3 intake cam(FE3N cam equivelent)
                            should prove a nice jump in performance VS how it could have run.
                            I did note that i had a fully collapsed lifter on the intake side- so all of the caps/HLA's are being pulled out & ultrasonicly cleaned


                            worked on extending/relocating the VAF wires a bit more today. i'll finish that up when i can score some more free time.

                                Test fitted the injector rail so i could have an idea how to start on the throttle cable...

                                turned it around so i could put it on the hoist & finish up the exhaust system tomorrow.
