Vipec ecus are nothing more than rebranded Link Ecu's from New Zealand.

If you are going aftermarket, you will be using an Adaptronic e420d Basic Select ecu. Thats whats going in my car. Look it up, download and install the software, have a play.

Looks awesome, but it needs something in the center to cover the spark plug cover holes. You should have someone make a billet aluminum spark plug cover and have it engraved with 'FE3-323' or something of that nature. Sort of like this: Click image for larger version

Just letting you know so that you have as much info as possible before you go out and buy a standalone ecu. What version of haltech are you looking into?

Oh, and just to let you know, I just found the hydra nemesis for $1600. http://www.vinnytenracing.com/hydra-ems/

I wouldn't wish Hydra Nemesis on my worst enemy for that price point.

Especially since they don't sell a "universal" setup. It's all PNP.

I have it on my Miata. It blows goats.

                EDIT:

I was wrong, looks like they do have a universal now, and it's starting at $1750. More if you want all the bells and whistles.

It's available at zxtuner.com under the zx2 section. I'm guessing that either asking him where his are made so that you can order a custom one for your fe3. From what I've heard, texting him is the best way to get ahold of him. He's pretty slow when it comes to emailing him. His cell # is listed at the top of the zxtuner website.

                      Ran into an issue.......

NEVER buy the old style synapse® BOV

the mounting design is by far the worst i've ever encountered. Proof @ 9Psi

I will be calling & emailing them with serious complaints. If i don't get resolve or some sort of replacement better design i'll be moving onto a borg warner EFR turbo with a built in BOV
