yeah. Chrome belongs on classic and muscle cars, not imports. Polished parts on the otherhand, go with almost everything....

decided to tear down the wastegate again- i can visually say im confident the wastegate was leaking @ least some.
managed to break free 5 of 6 allen key bolts (insert about allen key's) the 6th one i had to physically weld an allen key into. in order to actually remove it.
[a trip to the hardware store for 6 new un-damaged/minty fresh allen key bolts $5.63]

relapped the wastegate valve to the old seat twice & then once really good to the new tial seat.

Took one of my on hand 3" v-band flanges to check fitment to the turbo hotside (Yes it will be welded directly to the cast)
my patience isn't there for removing 5 bolts in such a tight engine bay

apparently regardless of how many times the valve is lapped into the seat thus far. i still cannot get it to hold a water test. thus conconluding- **** emusa & their cheap valve & valve guide material allowing too much slop.
I can't promise any tial unit would be better by design as there is serious design flaw.

After all this work i can only hope that this emusa gate holds better then it initially did.

tack'd the V band into place on the turbine hotside
I added good amount of heat & it actually welds nicely. Tomorrow it will be tigg'ed properly with nickel rod.
im confident it will hold up well.

I've always been a big fan of what you're doing, creates sooo much room lol. Looks sharp as always though man, I'm sure it'll weld up just fine though...but you'll find out once you get some serious heat through that turbo lol

no solid updates..... im seeking spare cash for a Tial MVS. don't want to even mess with this current wastegate anymore.
i'll probably make use of it for an external gate gtx manifold/etc.

Out of curiousity, is there a particular reason you're wanting the MVS?

Know of any reasons I should avoid the MVS? Its watercooled & tial usually has a good idea of quality. My main reasons were merely a 38mm v band unit to replace the ebay one I had.

Ehhh... not really i suppose. Early ones had quality/sealing issues similar to what you're seeing with the EMUSA unit, but haven't heard anything since.

I'm just not really a fan of watercooled wastegates in general, i think it's just an unnecessary complication, but if you're cool with it, it's not really a reason to avoid them.

I haven't personally used an MVS, but i've used quite a few Tial gates in the past, and i must say that honestly one of my biggest "breakthroughs" was when my last one got stolen off my car and i ended up replacing it with a Turbosmart, which i found to be far superior. (For my particular setup at least)

Sorry, i digress. I was mainly just curious. Tial makes good quality stuff, no reason to avoid them.

see thats kinda what i read. The first mvs wo watercooling had some issues. I was cross between the tial & a turbosmart. But I can't find any information what materials turbosmart uses(main concern) as that's the reasoning of failure behind this gate.
If you have any descriptive info on the turbosmart ill take a further look into it. I need soomething within the next few days tho.
