Well, hopefully you guys remember my last build thread. I was supposed to go to the dyno to go for the 400whp goal but unfortunately i had some setbacks. Basically one day i was redoing my oil pan gasket, and i noticed cyl1 end cap had excessive play. Since the engine was put together rather quickly i knew this was gonna be a problem that i had to deal with before it dealt with me. Unfortunately it beat me to the puch and hence..........
Ok, so basically i called it, rod bearing 1 spun and the tear down began. I wasnt gonna get pissed because it was my fault since i half assed it so i just wanted to make sure this time around i would come back bigger and better. I took the engine to the machine shop and crossed my fingers that the crank wasnt junk, and of course....it was junk along with the rod. So i grabbed one the many spare rods i have, had it cryo'd and sent it to the machine shop along with a new crank that took me 3 weeks to source. I had everything sized, block hot tanked, crank micropolished, head resurfaced to make sure everything was back to stock reliability.
ss downpipe, aluminum intercooler piping, slim fans, etc.
Of course while the car is down, time for some upgrades! so i started ordering parts.
I ordered new gauges, short shifter, skyline gtr FMIC, custom racing radiator, downpipe & exhaust housing got ceramic coated, new full race manifold and ditched the ss autochrome mani. I also got a new red top tial 38mm wastegate with a 1bar spring along with total seal piston rings, clevite bearings, melling oil pump and all the other basic rebuild stuff.....and so the rebuild begins.
Soon enough all my parts start coming in and assembly starts.
Howe racing custom radiator for my mx-3
