This is what I've been up to the past week.
Cleaning and swapping interior.
The carpet was pretty bad. I had to take it to the carwash and pressure wash it. The seats were heavily stained I was able to get some of the staining out but they're going to need new fabrics.
Also the mx3 visors fit, but they dont go into the lock as the protege/escort/323 ones are wider.
Carpet is in.
The hole for the seatbelt is in a different location so I had to make new ones
Seats fit really well.
No "gangster lean"
The steering wheel... With the mx3 seats, everyone knows that they are really low. I like how low they are. What I didn't like is how high the steering wheel was. It was basically directly in my line of sight and I had to lean to the side to see around it.
I know some protege's have adjustable steering wheels but I don't want the adjustable shi making clutter around the column. What I did was buy longer bolts from lowes. you need (4) M8 x 1.25 bolts I got the .50 length but you can get shorter ones and be ok. I also used 2, 1/4" nuts instead of 8 washers just for simplicity. The nuts are slightly bigger than the M8 boltso they will slide up and down easily. It brought the wheel down about 1/2-5/8 inch and Its perfect.
Rear seat was direct bolt in
