I bought the Miata in October with a significant amount of body damage. I recently got it back from the body shop. Unfortunately, East Tennessee is known for having a significant amount of pollen in the spring, and this year is exceptional. The car is a 94 body with the motor, transmission, rear-end, interior, and brakes from a 97. The suspension is adjustable--I suspect generic Ebay. I found the wheels on Craigs for a steal and couldn't turn them down--they do not make the ride any smoother though.
The MX-3 was originally a 93 which I purchased from a board member in 2009. The motor is a boosted BP w/ a tapped oilpan. The transmission is from an Escort GT and the interior is from a 95. I bought the seats from Miami's Craigs so I had my brother hold on to them for a few months until he came back to Knoxville; during that time, a friend and I swapped the interior from the ugly tan one. So, the seats don't match quite as well as they could but they are in great shape. I kept the old floor mats to sort-of match the seats. At one point I had a Euro bumper but I have since wrecked the car and went back to the US version. Recently changed the FMIC. Wheels are by Motegi.
MX-3 has 2 sets of Blue HIDs and Miata has a set of Pink.
